For the record, this review is for the park located within the city of San Jose, not the Costa Rican national park system (there seems to be some confusion on here). My hostel was right across the street from here, so I walked around this little park quite a bit. It's a nice little oasis in the middle of the metropolitan area, with beautiful trees and nice paths. It's very popular among the locals...although I wouldn't recommend it after about 6:00 or 7:00pm, it tends to get a little sketchy. People are warned against being there at night -- I walked back to my hostel nearby 30 minutes or so after nightfall and all I saw were a lot of couples making out on the benches, but I could easily see it getting dangerous later at night. Moral of the story: nice park to walk through during the day, avoid at night.
