“Small but charming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Not many stores open and the bar we were in was pretty quiet even though there was a big soccer game going on.

“Awful people, awful security, nice ladies though”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

I do not recommend this place at all. Lots of "dangerous" people always fighting and looking for trouble. You can not trust the security guys... sometimes they are the ones starting the fights. It's not a safe place to go at all

“go and forget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2012

go ahead and party like it's 2012 and you aren't going to make much further. Kinda dangerous at times but if you're really drunk then why worry. About a million bars and places to drink. Stick together cause if you aren't careful its easy to lose your friends.

“Large variety, nice atmosphere, foreigner friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

I went here on a Saturday night (1/2012) arriving around 11:00pm with a group of 8 total people all from the U.S. While a lot of the people entering were locals, we did not feel threatened (we had 5 guys and 3 girls). We walked around for a little bit and found some bars with really great deals, one of them giving us 8 shots of vodka (almost double shots) for $10..which anyone should realize is a steal. After drinking at this place (didn't remember any of the names of bars really..) we went to find a club to dance. After avoiding the ones with cover charges we found one that let us in without paying cover..probably since they realized we'll be buying drinks anyways and there's 8 of us. We ended up at what I think was Club Twister (not sure..didn't really pay attention). There was a pretty big dance floor with a small upper level, also with a small dance floor. Three bars total, a dancer on the right when you walk in. We were the only non-locals there and while it felt intimidating at first, nothing bad happened. Most locals spoke to us about how we liked it and gave us no trouble. Our ladies even danced on the stage for fun and encountered no problems. The DJ was playing Latin music and it was very easy to dance to. Drinks weren't too expensive..about $6-8 a drink.
Bottom line is, if you're with a group it shouldn't be a problem convincing bouncers to let you in without cover charge, and they also didn't check ID's anywhere we went. A good amount of beautiful women there, overall a great time. Place started getting nice and full around 12:30-1am. When we left around 2am it was still going hard.

About other reviews that state this as a place for hookers and danger..you just have to be careful. Always stick with your group, put your wallet in your front pocket/keep purses with you at all times (though didn't feel threatened at all), leave all together (lots of cabs waiting outside the exit..a 10-15 minute drive should be no more than $7 a cab so don't let them take advantage and set the price before getting in the cab), have a plan if someone gets lost to meet somewhere, and that's about it.

The best part about El Pueblo is there's plenty to choose from..if you don't like one place just leave and find another. Highly recommend pre-gaming and then when you get there finding strictly a bar for more shots..then head over to the club! Enjoy
