I stayed here for a few nights in July. The hotel placed me in a room called "Chalet 2." It's a (very) tiny room under the stairs. I didn't have room to open my suitcase - I had to place it on the bed to open it. No windows, though an attached bathroom does have a window at head level. The door of the room opens to the kitchen where breakfast is prepared and served in the morning. If you're a light sleeper, the food prep noises and early diners will wake you in the morning. Based on the room alone, I would give this place maybe 2 stars.
The rest of the hotel is nice. Free wifi throughout. There is a kitchen area where breakfast is served. Just beyond this is a sitting area with a small fountain and another kitchen area where you may prepare meals. Other areas in the hotel have a tv, pool table and ping pong table, computers for internet access, and a small bookshelf with a few novels and travel guides for Costa Rica. Staff were friendly, especially those who worked during the day (the lady on night shift was overly strict). I'd definitely recommend this place, but stay away from Chalet 2.
