I stayed here for 4 nights then a single night at the end of a tour. This hotel is interesting once you are inside with various levels and extensions. Consequently, the rooms vary considerably. For my 4 night stay I was in room 26 which is one of a few rooms which is accessed up the stairs by reception. This was a good size room with a double bed and had opening windows overlooking the street. The ensuite shower room was spacious but there was no blind on the large (frosted) window so I didn't feel I could put the light on night! Some reviewers have mentioned noise at this hotel but the sounds of the street weren't too intrusive and didn't bother me. The single night I spent was in a room which couldn't have been further from reception and was up some stairs near the roof terrace. I didn't like this room so much but for one night it was OK and was probably cheaper. Some of the rooms are rather internal and open into a communal area, others are a bit like those you would find in a motel. It would be worth having a look at your room on arrival and maybe asking to see something else, reception staff are helpful and mostly speak some English. Breakfasts were nice with eggs to order, rice and beans and lovely pancakes, fruit and cheese slices. Fruit juice and coffee were plentiful. Only after travelling around the country did I appreciate that this hotel served a better choice and quality of breakfast than many! The communal areas provide somewhere to sit and to gather. The food in the restaurant was good, especially the pasta and the cocktail happy hour with 2 for 1 is a great chance to treat yourself. There is a computer available too. Disappointingly, we were not able to eat in the restaurant when we returned after our tour as they were fully committed with an outside booking, such a shame as the restaurant is a plus. It cost $28 to get here in a taxi from the airport, make sure you have the name and address written down clearly to show the taxi controller and driver!
