I have stayed at the Clarion Amon Plaza several times over the last few years. Although the hotel is not new, the rooms were always clean and comfortable.

I recently returned to the Amon Plaza to find the hotel in a sad state. The rooms that my group were assigned were very worn and dated. The beds were sagging, the floors filthy and the bathrooms full of scum.

I would not return to the Amon Plaza unless it were drastically renovated.

This hotel is sorely in need of a remodel and upgrade of bed linens, carpets, drapes, etc. The shower was very dark and had a loose fan cover hanging over the top of it, with mildew in the corners. Ewwwwwwwwww. Hard bed. Noisy location - we heard gunshots at night. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me.

Though ageing a bit, this hotel has a great location, excellent service staff, and value rates. The rooms are clean and for anyone doing business in San Jose, it`s a good choice. They also have an unlimited international calling plan for $20 a day.

Stayed three nights. Convienent and nice. New owners (American hotel group) so more English friendly than before. Good casino and lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel is in the process of taking over and changing restaurant which is good because the food was okay but expensive and all Italian. TV's could use an upgrade but I didn't go to watch TV. Staff was very friendly.
