La Perla is a nice cheap hotel , usually cheap hotels are baaaad, this one has many amenities and its actually nice. I recommend this hotel for first and last night stays in SJO city!!

The hotel was clean, but I think that is really all I can say about it. If you were going to stay in San Jose Costa Rica on business, this might be a place to stay. If you want to sleep, go somewhere else. This place was next to a couple of factories and I heard trucks, and jake brakes all night. All outside windows and door are bared, and they need to buzz you into the hotel. I got the impression it wasn't a very safe neighborhood, especially when I went to try and find somewhere to eat, and they recommended I take a taxi. Their included breakfast was two pieces of fruit, milk,and some sort of pastery. Their advertised internet was not working....no air conditioning. Shower had no water pressure, but it worked if you got under it.
