Casa Lima's hospitality and knowledge of the sights and attractions of Costa Rica is unparalleled. My husband and I stayed for four days and were impressed by the level of service, beauty of the grounds and quality of the tours recommended by their staff. And the food at the in house restaurant-delicious!!!! I highly recommend and will be returning soon

Our family loved our stay at Casa Lima. We stayed in a family suite, so our daughters had their own room with their own bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has two twin beds, so they didn't even need to share a bed! Their is a door between the rooms. The rooms were clean, and they welcomed me by name when I arrived to check in. Nelson and Gabriel went out of their way to help us. They sat down with us and gave us recommendations about excursions, and called a taxi for us. We all agreed that we will stay here again if we are blessed to be able to vacation in Costa Rica again!

My husband and I left for Costa Rica the day after our wedding, and our first (of two) stops was San Jose. We were a little reluctant at first. Neither of us had ever been to the country, and we were concerned about finding a safe place to stay in San Jose. Then we found Casa Lima :) Not only did we feel safe enough to take walks down the road to the different convenience stores, but the bed and breakfast also had a very homey feel. In the center is an atrium with so much lush landscaping (not to mention a monkey, a bilingual parrot, a tortoise and a waterfall/pond) that you forgot you were in a city.
As an added bonus, the owners helped us plan a trip to Arenal to see a volcano and relax in the hot springs. They, along with several other guests, went on that trip as well. Nelson and Judie also helped arrange transportation to our next destination and back to the airport. Oh, I almost forgot to mention.....since they knew it was our honeymoon beautiful native flowers were waiting in our room when we arrived. We could have not been happier with our stay. In fact, we recommended Casa Lima to our bartender in Manuel Antonio when he asked where to stay in San Jose :)

It's a comfortable and nice place for stay. It's like be at home. The decoration is very original, rounded of nature. Rooms are perfectly clean and comfortable. Something that I loved was bread in breakfast. You have to taste it to understand what I'm talking about. Another advantage of this bed and breakfast is that everything is near, principal streets, malls, supermarkets, buses, etc, etc.

We loved this place!! We arrived at Casa Lima late in the evening and were greeted by the owners Nelson and Judy. We were tired but hungry and they went out of their way to make us a pizza. Throughout the entire 10 days, the staff at Casa Lima went out of their way to please us and make us feel welcomed. My boyfriend and i are a spare of the moment type of couple and we went to CR with pretty much no idea what we were going to do (except we knew we wanted to visit the beach and zipline). The following morning after breakfast, Nelson sat with us for almost 2 hours and planned our entire 10 days. That day we went ziplining...wow, scary but an amazing experience! It's a must do tour! He also set up a day tour to visit the volcano and hot springs, and a catamaran day trip which included snorkeling and horseback riding. We also went to Manuel Antonio and stayed one night in Monteverde where we did the EXTREME Zipline (supposedly the fastest zipline in all of Costa Rica). On Saturdays, there is a fresh fruit market just a few blocks from Casa Lima and Nelson was kind enough to drive us there. Casa Lima has a beautiful courtyard that resembles a miniature rainforest with the relaxing sounds of a waterfall that flows into a koi pond. There's birds and a turtle named Franklin that walks around the courtyard. All in all, Costa Rica is a beautiful country and Casa Lima is the place to stay because its your home away from home. We want to thank the staff of Casa Lima, especially Nelson and Judy, for making this trip one of the best experiences we have ever had. We plan on recommending you guys to all of our friends.

Room Tip: The rooms that face the courtyard are the best because if you open the windows you can hear the wate...

Casa Lima is truly a Costa Rican jewel. If you must stay in San Jose, I could not imagine finding a more relaxing place to stay. Thanks to Nelson, Judi and their entire staff we immediately felt welcome in their home. From the moment we arrive until the day we stepped into the taxi to leave, we were treated as family, not as a tourist. Our first night we listen well into the night to what we thought was a steady, rain only to realize that it was the courtyard waterfall, in the morning we were greeted by the sun shining through our own private courtyard jungle. This trip will be remember for many things, Volcanoes, wonderful museums, several outstanding vegetarian restaurants, canopy zip-lining, a couple of “cool cats”, one named Boots the other Sunshine. Most importantly it will be remembered for the sense of true Pura Vide conveyed by Nelson and Judi.

We recently stayed at Casa Lima at both the start and end of a whirlwind adventure trip through Costa Rica with 3 pre-teen - teenagers. Judie welcomed us thoroughly but what caught the attention of all included 2 cats, 1 monkey, 2 iguanas, a parrot, 2 turtles, and the wild birds that few in and out of the courtyard to check things out. This place has it all, in a safe residential neighborhood outside of downtown San Jose. As a way to get in/get out of San Jose as you move through the country, it's great.

Room Tip: If your kids like animals this place is awesome. Location wise, there's not a lot around. Ther...
