“Good with chances of improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Landed up here due to a lack of opportunity to go out somewhere else. Did not rue the fact. The staff are very friendly (as in most places in Costa Rica). Had the karaage for starters and ramen for mains. The karaage was good but was sometimes tending towards McD nuggets. Very rarely but for a fleeting moment this imagery did flit across my mind. Perhaps the small size of the chicken pieces was adding to that. The ramen could have been better. The soup tasted very very authentic. The ham and chicken pieces did not. The ramen itself was not smooth. It had lumps and did not seem to have absorbed the taste of the soup enough. Maybe it was refrigerated for too long.

The menu was quite extensive and the descriptions were authentically written. The taste may beg to differ but i guess it is for you to try out. The prices are ok - my meal above cost $29. The portion size is very good.

“Must be hard to get Sake & sushi grade in Costa. Order something else.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

I live in NY and love sushi.
This restaurant for me was nothing more that average.
I had a normal large saki for $25. Yes, you read that correctly $25!!!
I had a sashimi plate with 16 pieces. for like $22. That price for a sashimi plate is very acceptable. The sashimi was top quality. The problem was that the pieces were tiny. Literally 1/3 of the size of an average piece in NY.
I spent over $50 for dinner and left hungry!
Staff was good and reasonably attentive.

“teppanyaki”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

I was part of a large group that took over both sides of the teppanyaki and because of the size, we all had the same thing. The problem is that I live in LA, so I am spoiled and so take this review with a grain of salt, but the flavors just didn't do it for me.

“Great food, service and ambiance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

We ate here after a long day of travel from LA, and it far surpassed our expectations for a hotel restaurant. Great, diverse menu, good service and nice ambiance. The nabeyaki udon and ramen were delicious. We also loved the Japanese salad, especially because of the dressing. The fried ice cream (like a flambee) was yummy too. It was a perfect, mellow meal to end an exhausting day.

“Great Sushi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Sushi chef is very quick and creative. The rest of the staff is very professional and quick, too! The hibachi chefs need a little more training; not as entertaining as some hibachi restaraunts that I have been too.
