Description: A quaint cafe that serves breakfast, breakfast breads, coffee, expressos, lunch, and early dinners. There is music on Sundays. A cafe dog that greets everyone who comes to the cafe. A beautiful hand made tile shop next door with gifts or watch the craftsmen in action making the tiles. We have clubs that meet at our Cafe, come join one! Our Cafe is not "bar themed" or "Americanized" it's more than just a Cafe..It's Cafe de Artistas, you just have to experience it.

“Coffee and art work during the day, pizza in the evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We stopped by to see the artwork, but found out that in the evening it is a pizzeria. The owner of the pizzeria was very nice that we inally stayed and had our pizza although the artwork area was closed.
So, if you want to see the artwork, go until 4 pm and enjoy art and coffee.

“Tile to tile”

Great laid back atmosphere and building. The owners are trying to establish this place as a meeting & conversation cafe.

“Be sure you have plenty of time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

Had a late lunch on Saturday. Minimal parking - had to park on street. Service is minimal and slow - one lady doing everything. It was 10 minutes after we sat down before we saw anyone. Restaurant decor seems to be tired as was the waitress/cook/and everything. Our food took over an hour and it was ok. I will say that my friends chicken salad had excellent/fresh fried chicken, but the salad lacked some ingredients mentioned on the menu. My friend did not like it. My veggie sandwich was a bit soggy but very flavorful. It wasn't cheap either, so all in all, we won't be back. There are too many other good restaurants in the area.

“Change of Ownership?”

When Bill Hill was the owner it was a great place for Sunday brunch. I'm not sure now but it is still a quaint indoor/outdoor restauratn.

“good food, nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

This cafe is close to where we are staying, so we have eaten here twice and will again before we leave. The food is very good (pancakes, Warhol breakfast sandwich, typical Costa Rican plate, pressed Cuban sandwich). The waffles are not what Americans call waffles. They were much heavier. Still tasty, but heavy not light and fluffy.

The service is a little slow, but not much more so that other cafes. And we have been to several in the 2 weeks we have been here. There is one person there and it seems that she does everything.

If you are in the area I would recommend this cafe. I say in the area, because there are so many good cafes, I would not fight the traffic and craziness around this part of Escazu to come here.
