We stayed here during the end of our trip to Costa Rica. We chose one of the upgraded suites, which still only ran us about $80. All the employees here were helpful and friendly, though there it was sparsely staffed. It's very very close to the beach, and we had monkeys playing outside our window on occasion. A quick walk to the beach (~5 min), they let us conveniently leave our room key at the front desk every time we went out. They sell water and other refreshments right at the desk, which helped a lot after a long hike or a sunny day on the beach. They were great about calling cabs, and pitched in with some local reccomendations to eat and drink. We actually met one of the owners as well, who was very nice and appreciative of having us stay at his hotel. An important note: this is a gay friendly hotel. We are a hetero couple, and had no problems or uncomfortableness at all. That's not to say that every room was filled with gay couples, but this definitely isn't the place to stay if you have a problem with that.
