“Relaxing with Excellent staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

The condos at Villas Tranquilas have an open feel with a kitchen set up for entertaining. We went to the local market and cooked a feast! Maria was the perfect advisor for the best tours and restaurants in the area. Her attentiveness and expertise helped us have a wonderful vacation as we explored the area. Maria booked a Catamaran tour for us... we saw a mother and baby whale! Diego and the security guards were also so helpful with any questions we had. Not only is the property beautiful and the staff amazing, the wildlife is plentiful! It was so much fun to see the monkeys and sloth. I would recommend Villas Tranquilas to anyone visiting the area!

My husband and I stayed at Villa Tranquila for 5 nights this past week with a few other friends staying in other villas there. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. Maria, Diego, Carlos and Javier treated us wonderfully. They treated my husband and I like friends or even family and were more than willing to help us out with whatever we needed. Booking spa appointments, reservations, shuttles, anything.

At night someone would always be walking the grounds in case you needed anything and it made us feel safe that someone was always being vigilant.

The villas themselves are modern and very spacious. They had utensils and pots and pans to use when eating in. It is about 5 minutes from the MaxiPali supermarket which made it easy to stock the fridge. We had a two bedroom duplex with two bathrooms. The pool is on the small side but it was never crowded. There is a nice covered deck with a grill and tables.

The location is a very short drive to Quepos or Manuel Antonio. Very close to ziplining at MidWorld (highly recommended) and the Rainmaker Tropical rain forest.

I would recommend Villa Tranquila to anyone wanting to stay off the main busy street in Manuel Antonio/Quepos.

We stayed for a week and wished we could stay longer. The Villa's are two stories, two bedroom, full kitchen and two bathrooms, both with showers. The bedrooms are air conditioned and the living are has a fan the keeps it very cool. We lowered the blinds before we left each day and returned to a cool Villa. We spent many afternoons around the poo, which is lovely, and enjoyed watching the Iguana, lizards, monkeys and numerous birds and butterflies as we relaxed at our Villa or by the pool.

The team, Maria, Dieho, Carlos and all the other great caretakers were more than we could have hoped for. If you come with no plans they will make recommendations you should take. Rainmaker park, Vanilla Spice tour, waterfall repelling, Manuel Antonio park, etc are all great.

This is the best kept secret in Quepos, if you want quiet, beauty, top quality Villas and great service, this is the place. We will be back!

Room Tip: I think they are all wonderful, but if you don't want the monkeys to wake you get one facing the...

If you want to save big in Quepos by cooking some of your own food, you just can't beat Villas Tranquilas. For the price of a medium quality hotel room in Quepos or Manuel Antonio you have a two bedroom private condo with very nice furniture and appliances.

But the icing on the cake is Maria. Having run my own tour business for 40 years I have never come across a hotel manager better than this lovely lady. She seems to be quite tireless in her endeavors to please her guests and make sure they have everything they need. Together with her able assistant Diego they run this 16 unit complex with the quality of service you should expect from a Hilton or Sheraton. Maria truly goes out of her way to please her guests.

Maxi Pali have just opened a real supermarket less than a kilometer from the Villas which makes it easy to supply all the things you need to live comfortably.

We checked the prices of all the good hotels in Quepos and found them way overpriced. Villas Tranquilas is the answer.

We spent a week at Villas Tranquilas in March 2012 and absolutely loved it. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes from Quepos, but very private. It is surrounded by the rainforest. The jungle sounds are lovely. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with
native plants and flowers, and vases of flowers greet you in your unit. We felt very safe. The property is gated and there's always a guard on duty. To say that Maria and Diego, the concierges, were helpful would be an huge understatement! Whatever you want to do,
wherever you want to go, they will arrange it for you. I asked where I could purchase fresh fish and within two hours two extremely fresh red snapper were delivered to my door. If you will be arriving late, just let Maria know and she will arrange for your desired groceries to be waiting for you in your unit. The units themselves are sparkling clean (the cleaning staff comes every day) and well equipped. I enjoyed cooking in the very modern kitchen. We rented a car in San Jose, but it isn't absolutely necessary. Maria will arrange transport to/from San Jose or you can fly into Quepos airport which is very close by. The grocery stores deliver and cabs can be arranged at any time and are very reasonable. When we return to Costa Rica, this is definitely where we will stay.

Room Tip: We were in Unit #16 which we loved. It faced the back of the property and looked out onto the forest...

My family spent a week at Villas Tranquilas. We had been planning a trip to Costa Rica for about 7 years. This was our first vacation with our three children ages 10, 7 & 5 years old. We knew the family would be best suited in a villa/home style accomodation. The Villas exceeded our expectations in more ways than one.

First of all we want to give a huge thank you to all of the staff there. Diego and Maria were extremely hospitable. There was nothing we asked for that was out of reach. They made us feel welcome and right at home. So much so that I considered selling off all our belongings back home and having family send us the money for a permenant stay!

The villa itself was nearly pefect. The closets had ample space for all of our belongings. The safe was functional. The bathrooms were in perfect order with clean ammenities. The grounds were immaculate. The pool was always warm and clean. They even have grocery delivery service for those who choose not to venture outside of the villas.

The maid service was exceptional. The villa was always in mint condition when we arrived in the afternoons and you can choose what time you want the maid to arrive each day. She even does your dishes which I found to be a huge bonus! Who wants to do the dishes on vacation?

The night guard, Carlos doesn't speak any english but we knew enough spanish to get along swimmingly with him! He is so funny and personable and was always smiling! My kids loved him! He made us feel very safe there. In fact I can't say I feel any safer at home than I did in Costa Rica.

They were always willing to help with information when we were looking for a restaurant or grocery store or private beach. Always had clean towels on hand for the pool or take to the beach.

The villas are about 5 minutes outside of the actual town. It's best to have a rental car if you are staying here. I however loved waking up to the birds and monkeys in the trees that surround the units. We really liked being off the beaten path a little and it's so close to town it didn't feel inconvenient. But it is not close enough to walk.

Quepos is a buzzing little town full of hidden treasures. The have a fantastic pizza restaurant up the hill, a cheap supermarket and if you fall ill to anything go to the pharmacia and ask for Monica. She is fluent in English and super helpful!

The beach at Manuel Antonio was breathtakingly beautiful but also the busiest beach we went to. You can pay folks there to watch your car and there is a company there called Mary's Rentals, which consists of a brother and sister partnership where you can pay a small fee for beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, drinks and snacks etc... they also will watch your stuff while you play in the surf. We paid about $20 for all of the above for the entire afternoon to play freely without worry.

The only con's I have about the villa is that the beds could be a little softer. They were comfortable but a bit on the firm side. Some people like that though. Personally I like mine real fluffy =)

And there is only air conditioning in the bedrooms upstairs. Now with the ceiling fan on downstairs or with the windows and slider door open in the evenings it was comfortable downstairs but when you are cooking dinner and breakfast over the stove it gets uncomfortably hot. I do wish we had some sort of air conditioning durning those times.

All in all this was the most beautiful country I've laid eyes on thus far. We will be back, possibly for good next time!

Thank you everyone who made our trip the best ever!

Room Tip: The villas on the north side facing the jungle see the most monkeys =)
