We arrived 10 min to 14.00, and as check-in time was 14.00, we were told to wait in the lobby, After 45 mins of waiting, we discovered the check-in staff had left and the new staff member wasn't informed. She did not have our reservation and found it unprocessed on the fax machine. After that, we could not get into our room, because the electronic key was not working properly. Eventually we managed, yet still have no clue why 9/10 times it did not work. The room was small, and right on the road. This meant a lot of noise that continued until dawn. The bathroom was nicely decorated, however our shower did not work well. Breakfast ok. Free internet terminal & free parking around the corner.

I was in a room next to the restaurant storage on the third floor. The staff was excessively loud in conversing by the storage room. You could hear every box being moved around and all conversation. I asked the front desk person for the internet password and she provided me with the wrong password, and was very difficult to deal with when I called back stating that the password was incorrect. The second front desk person provided the correct internet password, but led me astray each time I asked questions about recommendations in the area or directions. They were not helpful at all. The room was very tiny, but provided hot water and was clean. AC worked. The area seemed very sketchy, would not recommend going out at night. Breakfast is included but nothing special.

I spent two nights at this hotel during a school trip. The AC worked fine and the bedroom was clean. The pool was also nice, albeit small. However, there were some major issues. The food served in the restaurant was mediocre and the meals I ate there were among the worst during my 9-day trip. The water temperature was spotty, so don't plan on a hot shower. The area around the hotel seemed pretty shady; I would not go around outside the hotel after dark, and only in a group if you must. Overall, not the most pleasant part of Costa Rica.

Nightly after dinner we would walk to the Best Western Hotel and take the elevator to the third floor restaraunt. We would order our coffee and sit at a bistro table overlooking the street below and the ocean. The coffee was very good and the service was always friendly and smiley even though we only ever had coffee.
Great place for an evening coffee as most places close early.
