“Favorite spot in Costa Rica”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

This week I visited Los Campesinos for the third time. The preserve and lodge support 17 families in the village. The waterfall and rural setting are peaceful and gorgeous. Everyone is friendly and eager to treat you as part of the community. The hike through the forest is very enjoyable as you learn about the plants they used to raise and the native species that have returned since they stopped farming and let the forest come back. The trail is much drier in February than in June, but full of diverse species whenever you visit. In rainy season, rubber boots are a good thing to wear. Come see rural tourism at its best!

“Afternoon Adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

My husband loved driving to this location—feeling very much like Indiana Jones as he traversed rocky roads, crossing streams and ascending (and descending) great heights—an SUV is essential. We had an option to take an organized tour to this location in an open jeep, but it would have been very dusty, and we would have missed out on the experience of being the one to drive this road (although it’s certainly not for everyone!). The waterfall was okay—we’ve seen plenty that are comparable in the US. Crossing the huge hanging suspension bridge, however, was a new experience and one that won’t soon be forgotten.
We had a great private tour guide, Manuel Cabalceta, who spoke English well and charged a reasonable price.

“Real adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

If you like the 4x4 ride in dirt roads in the middle of the mountains, this is the place that you have to go; the prize is 3 big and beutiful waterfalls with their naturals swiming pools with crystal water and all the natural beauty of the mountains. Peaceful, and relaxing place. Good for go the kids.

“Catedral natural (natural cathedral)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012 via mobile

This place was so beautiful! We hired a 4x4 and we drove there which was amazing! Along the way we saw waterfalls, crossed a few bridges and stopped to take lots of photos! We got there after the bad storm & the road had been cleared of trees and landslides, but sadly the rope bridge hadn't survived (under construction at the moment). However, even without the rope bridge, you can swim in such beautiful waterfall pools & see stacks of wildlife including the more rare toucan - which we were so glad to see! Do it, you'll love it, dont try it without a 4x4 though. But do it! That's why you hire 4x4 s so you can do things like this!!

“Vacation Buggy Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

Incredible drive in the vacation buggy (www.vacationbuggy.com) taking us from Manuel Antonio to Los Campesinos Reserve. One of the most breathtaking views in Costa Rico. Visted the top and bottom and due to heavy rains the night before, there was strong water movement.

AWESOME!
