Thank-you Patricia and Simon for such an amazing experience. Our ten days at your paradise was just too short. We loved everything about our stay. Solyluna is located about 45 minutes outside of Montezuma one way and Cabuya the other. After a long and stressful trip, Luna was our dream vacation...away from it all!! It was just beautiful, clean and self sufficient. We loved how charming it was...the wood, the breakfast nook, the artsy touches all around. We loved the tranquility and that some days we only saw animals. We spent most of our days lounging on the front deck reading and watching all the little critters come and go. We had a steady supply of bananas and lots of the animals were comfortable being very close to us. We chose to walk everywhere and loved it. The exercise and sunshine was so nice for us. We carried a backpack with us so we had lots of water and were able to haul our groceries quite easily. We love to cook and found the kitchen easy and functional...although next time I would bring along a sharp paring knife, as there is only one serrated knife. Not that you need to worry about cooking, Cabuya was our favorite for food...very authentic, tasty and reasonably priced. Montezuma is a cool little town, but busier and quite touristy for our likings. Upon arrival, you are greeted warmly by Patricia and Simon. These two know their surroundings. Patricia hooked us up with a detailed map and excellent local insider tips...low tide, sight seeing, fish monger, bus schedule. Our favorite was an early morning hike up to the Montezuma waterfall. It was so fresh and cold, and we had left early enough that just the two of us were there. On our walk back, the tourists were coming in droves. The beach at Solyluna was beautiful. Most days it was just the two of us and pelicans. I would recommend water shoes as the beach in that area is quite rocky. The water was warm, but the drop off was quick and the waves were quite strong at times. Luckily we are both strong swimmers and enjoyed quite a bit of ocean time. For anyone who is looking for a quiet, away from it all vacation, Solyluna is for you. We loved the exercise, sun, and surroundings. We are already saving to return and stay for longer. The pictures do not do it any justice. It is a very special spot, run by very special people in the beautiful setting of Costa Rica. What more do you need?? Thank-you Patricia and Simon. We will see you again!
