Is it wrong to write a review for one place three times!? Maybe, but each visit was unique and wonderful so here I go again! I don't write many reviews, only when I have something important to say. During our last visit to the Cabuya area we again stayed at Sol y Luna. I know, there are plenty of other wonderful places to stay in the area but we keep coming back to Sol y Luna because we know we will not be disappointed and we know we will thoroughly enjoy every minute we are there.
As everyone has said, Patricia and Simon are wonderful hosts. They really want you to enjoy your vacation. They are kind and very thoughtful people. The cottages are amazing and artistically appointed. I feel very relaxed when I am there and know that all I have to do is sit in the hammock and I will see wildlife. The proximity to everything the area has to offer is perfect. You can walk to the beach, or take a longer walk down the main dirt road to the Panaderia if you like (it's long but a flat walk). Cabo Blanco is only about 5 km away I think, and Montezuma is also very close. If you have a car, make sure to drive up to Curu Reserve where you might get a chance to play with the resident spider monkey who is very friendly as she walks the trails looking for visitors. All in all, you will NOT be disappointed with the area or Sol y Luna. We are going back again this April (yes, our 4th trip) and we cannot wait!
Make sure to consider their new cottage, Estrella. We haven't stayed there yet but Patricia and Simon gave us a tour and it is gorgeous!
