Fantastic service, excellent cuisine. You feel right at home with movies at night, access to gorgeous and tranquil Ylang Ylang resort, and security 24hr a day. Would most definetly return to el sano banano!

El Sano is a great location to stay and the food is delicious and freshly prepared to order. The rooms are clean and spacious. There was AC and wifi. Also, the staff is very friendly and extremely attentive. I highly recommend it.

Nice, low-key place to stay with great service and amenities. Room's are nice- good lighting, comfortable beds, clean, and spacious. Location is right next to the beach (practically on it) and in the town of Montezuma with natural activities all around. Fun place for family or friends to visit and this is a great option for hotel.

Basic, very clean and spacious rooms right in the center of town. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is a lovely area for eating outside in the back, shaded among the trees. Over breakfast we saw many lizards and various birds, adds to the Costa Rican experience! The beds were a little hard, but I found this to be true for most all of Costa Rica. Overall, great experience staying at Sano. The staff was exceptional, very accommodating, and made sure we had everything we needed!

Room Tip: My only complaint is our room didn't have window, but I'm sure you can specify this if you w...

"Continental breakfast!" Wow! When you spend a night at the El Sano, you don't just get a typical continental breakfast, you get real menu sit down restaurant style breakfast. The banana pancakes were made fresh with bites of banana inside. Incredible! The French toast with cinnamon and sugar, excellent!!!! If you opt to eat outside you will see a variety of birds and at time monkeys! (We saw a mommy monkey with baby)! And the service couldn't be better. The staff makes every attempt to be of assistance and are bilingual. The only draw back is the small rooms but the rooms are compensated by clever storage shelving. The bonus is that every night at 7:30 they offer dinner and a movie!!!! The movies are played on a high tech Apple brand projector onto a approximate 10 ft screen with great sound. Further, the movies are current and well selected. While staying at El Sano, we did have lunch 2 stores down (next to convenience store) and enjoyed a fabulous fish soup!

Room Tip: Choose a room in the back of hotel to avoid morning street noise.

if you're looking for a place to stay while in Montezuma this is it! Nice, clean, spacious rooms with nice bathrooms (with towels, shampoo, and soap- which you don't find everywhere in costa rica!) it's right on the strip of Montezuma and has a beautiful restaurant underneath with great food. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is hot water, a tv with cable, wifi, a safe in the room, comfy beds, working locks, a/c, etc...). It right in the heart of all of the tours and excursions which can be booked right at the reception desk. What we thought was very cool was the movie night they had every night. Each night they would pull down a large projector and play a different movie (a good one, too!) while guests ate their dinner. Very cool idea as it gets dark very early and leaves little amount of things to do at night. You also have access to the Ylang Ylang resort's pool and amenities which if you take a look is amazing! you just need to walk about 10 minutes down the beach to get there and the grounds are beautiful. Also the complimentary breakfast is nice! I wouldn't search any further than this place to stay. Oh, and it's right in front of the beautiful beach! Cannot beat the value as we paid $50 for the evening for all of this! Only wish we would've found it sooner.

Room Tip: We looked at many and they were all pretty much the same.
