Hotel Amor de Mar was our first stop in Costa Rica for our honeymoon. It was quiet, low key, and pretty close to paradise. We had room number 4 which was sort of above the dining area and had spectacular views of the ocean. The staff had sprinkled petals on our bed with a heart and our initials. It was such a nice touch.
The property was lined with several chairs and hammocks for relaxing. The beach is rocky, so not really a place to hang out/swim but the tide pool "swimming pool" was amazing. The water was clear and I'd guess about 7 feet deep. Spent a morning hopping in and out as the waves came in and it was awesome.
Food was delicious and fresh. We had at least 3 meals there and were pleased every time. The staff was friendly. Carla took special care to introduce herself and speak to us our first morning in town. Amor de Mar does not have dinner but we ate at Restaurant Artistas a short walk down the road. Really really great dinner right on the beach.
Amor de Mar was a wonderful hotel. I would definitely highly recommend it to anybody travelling to Montezuma. Not sure if I would recommend Montezuma, itself though :).
