We rented one of these clean, modern and comfortable cottages for three nights. Our hosts went out of their way to help us during our stay. The main road to town was in disrepair and our car rental could not venture into town safely.( DO rent a 4 wheel drive for this area.) Our hosts made numerous jeep trips for us. They helped with reservations for Tortuga Island and fantastic meals! They took us to the lovely waterfall. Our only complaint was the weather-too hot even for our hosts! I understand this is often true for March. The rooms did have fans, but I would have liked it cooler for sleeping. The comfort or the mattress made up for the weather. We were far from the crime and noise of the town. We were in a working neighborhood. The local baker lived across the road, so we got fresh bread each morning before delivery to town!!! Montezuma runs on cash only-so do not expect to be able to use your cc! Bring many small bills.Be sure to dine at Cocolores and visit Tortuga Island with the guides that Sarah and Michael recommend. You will be very happy you did! The gardens around the casas are lovely and have their own band of white faced monkeys.
