Mariposa was a perfect place to unwind! A small self contained cabin , a wonderful way to have the feeling of being at a cottage and away from it all. The patio overlooking the ocean was the perfect place to start and end each day. The cabin is situated away from town so it is best for someone with a car or as a romantic getaway for people who just want to escape! I will think of Mariposa every winter day and the wonderful people who own it. It is well designed, the small kitchen makes it easy to cook , the outdoor shower was a treat at the end of a hot hike... The perfect place to come home to!!!

What an amazing spot for a perfect vacation to Montezuma! We stayed in 'Mariposa'. A Perfectly appointed little cabina with a stunning ocean view & woodwork & tile attention to detail that was accomplished with heart felt craftsmanship. Slept with the french doors open & awoke to Beautiful sunrises everyday.

We enjoyed the Sounds of Howler Monkeys, surf and birds. Loved the outdoor shower.
We couldn't wait to come back after our daily adventures!

At the risk of letting the secret out for this most Beautiful Spot on Earth, we highly recommend Montezuma Heights!

What a stunning place to stay. Right on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. The view is amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. The cabin was beautiful and clean. The owner Peter and his family very helpful and friendly. It's private and great for couples looking for a romantic spot. A little out of Montezuma so you have your privacy but close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. I would go back in a heartbeat!

If you're looking for a nice perch to live out your Montezuma experience, this place is outstanding! One of the coolest places I've stayed on Earth! First of all, our host Peter and his family were gracious, helpful and knowledgeable about the many things Montezuma has to offer. As for the cabana... stunning. For a lack of a better comparison, it's like staying in the Captain's quarters of a Brig at sea with the exception that you're positioned at the edge of a cliff 300 feet above the ocean. Most of the building materials are recycled or "found" wood objects that further reinforce the ship-like qualities of the house. Rustic but refined! The composition is rounded off with a full kitchen, day bed, crows nest bedroom, outdoor shower with tile patio, clotheslines, dining nook and a large deck hanging over the cliff with 180 degree views of the coastline. If the interior floor plan feels small, no problem. Simply open the folding door separating the kitchen from the deck and you can double the square footage. I could live there.
