“Just another rave review.”

My wife and I spent a week at Agua Vista (in Casa Morpho) in February and absolutely loved it! While in Costa Rica we visited Cabo Blanco, Corcovado, and Quetzels National Parks and also the Curu Preserve.......and yet we saw more wildlife (more closely) at Casa Morpho and along the driveway in than at all those parks COMBINED! Coatimundi, tamandua, toucans, eagles howler monkeys, capuchins, kisskadees, various colibri, iguanas, pygmy owls, puffbirds, blue morphos, and more. My advice.....book a week at Agua Vista and just hang out for your wildlife experience. The accommodations are first rate, the hosts are super friendly, and you won't need to deal with the overused parks.

My husband and I found Auga Vista on tripadvisor.ca last year and based on the reviews, booked a week in February 2014. We were not disappointed. In fact, Agua Vista exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back! The propertyand grounds are beautiful and Casa Morpho was perfectly situated with spectacular mountain and ocean views. I'm not usually an early riser but we didn't want to miss a moment of the day. We were up at sunrise having coffee on the porch listening and watching the jungle wake up. Plenty of wildlife literally on your doorstep. Casa Morpho was charming and exactly what we were looking for in accommodations. The open air outdoor feel of the house and the porch and private plunge pool were awesome! The kitchen is fully equipped (we used the blender often!) and we loved the full size fridge! We were concerned that the house was not air conditioned but it was a non issue - the fans provide ample air flow, There is plenty to do in the area and we rented an ATV with the help of Khalida and Alex. So many lovely beaches to explore in the Montezuma area and the quad was perfect for touring around. Make sure to hike to the river and waterfall on the property. The koi pond is beautiful and a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the fish.

Khalida and Alex were gracious hosts and very helpful. Khalida was a pleasure to deal with when making reservations and my e-mail questions were promptly answered. Alex recommended we try Soda La Naranja in town - which we probably wouldn't have considered otherwise - it turned out to be our best meal in Montezuma! Cocolores was another great dining experience on the beach! Puggos was a disappointment this year and we didn't have time to get to Playa de los Artistas...next time!

We will definitely be back! Thank you for a beautiful vacation!

Cheers guys,

Kevin & Tracy

I stayed here with my girlfriend in February and we had an amazing stay! we stayed in the 2 bed property (casa carimbo??) which has a great sea view from the veranda and ample living space. the quality of the accommodation was excellent - the rooms were spacious, there were hot showers and the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked. we found ourselves spending most of the time on the patio though, admiring the views from the hammock or chairs and checking out the wildlife. appreciated having a decent wireless signal in the villa - I like nature and so forth, but I've got to be able to keep in touch with the news at home!

the location does necessitate a car (or taxi journeys), but once you've done the journey a couple of times, the drive is fine.

the hosts are really what make the place and you really feel like their guests. they were very helpful with recommendations for the area and we particularly appreciated them coming over to our villa to show us a collection of howler monkeys in the trees on the property! the nature there is stunning and makes it a true jungle experience. when in costa rica, I recommend staying here. thing is ... your here for the nature and for the price point, I don't think you could do any better in terms of accommodation. the place is really eco friendly and you feel very much at home. definitely a great option for longer stays, too.

thanks guys for your great hosting. see you again one day (preferably in costa rica, but if not, in London!)

cheers

We stayed at Aquavista in Jan 2012 and 2013. This Jan Aquavista was fully booked so we tried another house which seemed similar on the net. What a contrast and disappointment.
It was not that our 2014 house was bad. But the profusion and close viewing of wildlife at Aquavista was missing. I now realise how much skill and work is involved in letting nature show itself. For example no dogs to scare small mammals and planting to attract birds such as hummingbirds and butterflies.
Aquavistas isolation does make walking to or from Montezuma very hard work. But other places closer to a road or neighbouring properties risk missing much of the purpose of the holiday if viewing birds and animals is important.

Agua Vista is really a paradise, my girlfriend and me we planned to stay here only 2 nights, we stayed here for 8 nights as we felt so good and relaxing. This is the best place you can find in Montezuma if you are looking for relax, tranquility and peace. The location is fantastic, is on an hill where there is a spectacular view of the Montezuma bay, just 10 minutes driving from the center this is the best choice for a lovely and romantic stay. The morning you wake up hearing all the jungle sounds, here you can meet a lot of animals: congo monkeys, pizotes, iguanas, colibri, tucans and much more! If you want you can swim in the river that belongs to the property. We loved the infinity pool, after a day spent on the beach there is nothing better to relax on the Agua Vista's pool looking and contemplating the beautiful view. All the suites are well equipped and very comfortable, with jacuzzy, kitchen, comfortable sofa, amacas with spectacular view of the ocean. The soul of this place are Khalida, Alex and their beautiful daughters. Alex is always working in the garden taking care of the plants and of the japanese pond and Khalida is always ready to recommend the best restaurant for dinner, the best was playa de los artistas, a fantastic place on the beach. Thank you Agua Vista, we will come back soon!!!

Great hosts. Very clean, convenient and well equipped house. Amazing ocean view. A lot of wild life around (monkeys, coaties, wild boars, agutis).
Defenetly you need SUV to be on the safe side.
Overall great and relaxing experience. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Casa Tragon and were able to see a family of Howler monkeys up close one day plus we had coatimundi in our yard daily. Not to mention an iguana and numerous birds and butterfly.

This is an awesome place if you want to see the jungle wildlife up close yet only a few minutes drive to town. Not really walkable in our opinion as the hill is VERY steep.

The unit had everything you need to prepare meals and the plunge pool was perfect. Outdoor shower was great. The hosts, Alex and Khalida were full of local tips - like dinner at Los Artistas - which is not to be missed.

If you want to really be IN the jungle then this is the place.

Room Tip: the two cabins without a pool are right next to the main house which has a large pool, although we l...
