We had a knowledgeable and friendly guide who showed us and taught us about a wide variety of wildlife, including the trees, flowers, birds, snakes, beetles, frogs, and other insects. Be prepared for rain at any time.

Unlike most visitors to this Reserve, we didn't go on any trails at all! The purpose of our visit was to enjoy a meal with our guide Andres Alvarado in a pleasant natural environment. There was an excellent food selection and everything we ordered was delicious and inexpensive. Our table gave us an unhindered view into the forest where we could see more species of vegetation than we could count. On the way in we had the good fortune to see a "mob" of Army Ants at work finding a meal, and a hungry flock of birds feasting on the ants. It's always nice to share a good meal!

Like: great learning opportunity and good nature hike (i have been there twice). Dislike: well, bird/animal watching is a luck game, and i was lucky once and unlucky in another time.

Went for a 6-hour hike. It was very pretty and very peaceful. We saw monkeys, the quetzal and some beautiful birds. We didn't hire a guide but hiring one would probably let you see more wildlife and learn more about them. I recommend spending some time at this beautiful cloud forest.
