There are many restaurants in the Monteverde area. The restaurants called "sodas" offer traditional or "typical" Costa Rican cuisine. Our guides recommended three sodas in town: this one, and Sabor Tico, which we ranked #2, and Mar & Tierra, which we ranked #3. See my other reviews of those latter two sodas. The name Tico y Rico refers to the nickname "Tico" for Costa Ricans, and "Rico" for rich. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beer, wine, and cocktails. A small place, with about 15 four tops, but these can be pushed together for larger groups. Everything we ordered was very good. Try the casados, a typical lunch of rice, beans, plantains, a choice of meat or fish, and salad.
