We stayed at this Inn last week, and it was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. We got there late, and thought we made a wrong turn because there were no cars, but we found out later that we were the only couple staying for the night. Because we thought we were in the wrong place we started to leave and then had to turn around. That is when we got the rental suv STUCK (the 4-wheel drive did not work) on the side of their driveway. It took their Manager (Jesus), and the owners (Barbara and Teitmar and their son), and a truck to pull us out. The vehicle almost ended up in a ravine. But, they all were extremely helpful in the dark and the rain. We had a very nice room, and I was amazed to not see the first bug inside since we among the trees and wilderness. I almost gave this hotel 4-stars, since the rooms do not have A/C yet (most places don't), and it was a little warm and muggy for me. But, I understand they are adding A/C to the rooms very soon. Our package included dinner, and their chef is excellent! He made the best tomato bisque soup I have ever had, along with a very tasty grilled marlin and fajitas. It was sad that we were the only people enjoying dinner, other than the owners, in this nice open-air restaurant. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast there, and then started our adventure. There were 8 of us, along with 4 guides to take horses up the mountain. That was quite the experience, since I had not been on a horse since I was around 1. But, the horses are well trained and it was quite the ride for all of us. That took almost an hour. Then, we started the ziplines. I have been on ziplines in Panama and Costa Rica, and these were the safest I have seen. You could tell from the attention to details that the owners are concerned about your well-being. There are 25 ziplines, and 2 areas of rappelling. I had never done rappelling before, so stepping backwards off of the rocks and over the waterfalls was exciting. The views are great, and the guides (especially Jefe-Jeffrey) are very helpful. After we were done, we came back to the restaurant for a nice lunch. The website photos are deceiving (at least to me), in that this place is not commercialized and busy. You will definitely enjoy nature while up in the mountain. We saw a porcupine sleeping in a tree, pretty blue butterflies, various birds and insects, and a family of monkeys. Even though it is the "rainy season", our weather was great (better than back home in Florida) and it is not nearly as busy as when the cruise ships start arriving. If anyone is interested, I have several videos I can share. Their "package deal" is a good value-give it a try!
