“Fantastic Ziplining - 25 Ziplines over waterfalls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This was the best part of our 2 week Panama Canal cruise. This adventure park has several different activities including horseback riding and ATV's. It's in the hills above Puntarenas, Costa Rica and it is a beautiful drive to the hotel. We did the 25-zipline course which involved ziplining over waterfalls and rappelling down waterfalls. It was quite an extensive course and all the guides were extremely helpful and safety conscious. We've ziplined in several places on other cruises and this was the best course that we've done. The best part was swimming in the pools at the base of the waterfalls. The scenery and the jungle were just gorgeous. Would definitely recommend this adventure park to anyone visiting Costa Rica.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. Yes, the rooms are basic but more than adequate. Beds are quite comfy, room temperature was comfortable, and our room (room 1) had an amazing view. Sitting on the balcony and looking at the view (mountains in the day and the town of mirmar and stars at night) made for a memorable and relaxing experience. You will hear howler monkeys calling at night and see so many birds! The staff made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The owners themselves were not so friendly but the employees did an excellent job in every way to make sure we had a great time. They knew our names and greeted us throughout the day. The excursion staff work hard to ensure that the guests have fun. Their positive attitude and genuine desire to share information about their culture made our trip memorable and personal. Enjoy the ziplines and definitely do the superman!! You will remember it forever! The horse back riding and hiking was great fun. The guides stop along the way to share information about plants and the environment. We enjoyed hanging out at the pool and sitting in one of the many quiet and beautifully landscaped areas when not on an excursion. The hotel offers a variety of excursions off the grounds also and we took advantage of a trip to the volcanoes, hot springs, and puntarenas. The food was incredible...huge portions and a chef whose skill in cooking and presenting food rivals that of the best resorts in the country. Share your compliments with the chef and he will go out of his way to make certain that you enjoy his masterpieces! The gardener worked hard and her hard work showed in the landscaping. Our highest compliments and thanks to Jorge, Victor, JJ, "Piri", Enrique, Chris, Jose, Juan, and so many others who made our vacation unforgettable. These guys work so hard to ensure that you have a good time and genuinely enjoy interacting with the guests. Be kind to them! I highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

This was the highlight of our trip so far. Having never zip lined before we were a bit nervous. The professional attitude of the staff and their attention to safety put our fears to rest. We had a great day and even added the "Superman" zip line at the end. We finished the day with a great lunch with a spectacular view. We would recommend this activity as a must do.

We came to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and if there was one thing we absolutely wanted to do it was go on the zip line :) We ended up being the only two people on our tour, which was awesome(more guides than tourists). We had an excellent time with the guys, and the included lunch was very tasty with large portions. Finding the place wasn't hard once we had turned off the main highway, just keep following the signs until you see a great big arrow. Steep hills and twisty roads to get there but well worth it.

This was the best stop of all the places we went on a 3 week Panama Canal cruise. It's in the hills above Puntarenas, Costa Rica and well worth the beautiful drive up. It has a nice little hotel with several available activities including about 38 ziplines. They have one 12 zipline course and another 25 zipline course which we did. Walter, one of our guides, spoke excellent english and all of them were very helpful and friendly. The 25 ziplines were down a small canyon all along and over multiple cascades and waterfalls. We stopped at one swimming hole and jumped in under a thunderous waterfall. To top it off we did a separate "Superman" zipline half a mile long. It was fantastic!

The first thing that impressed me was the attention to safety. The teens in our group wanted to have fun, but I wanted to be sure that they would be safe. The equipment was excellent, the safety briefing complete and clear. Each person was guided until they were comfortable, not too much, not too little. Where the platform was exposed, both the staff and the person in line were clipped in while waiting.
Doing a series of ziplines in a valley with numerous waterfalls was great. Rather than zipping over the forest again and again, every line was different. The waterfalls were very pretty and would be hard to see any other way. There was even more variety, in that there were two rappels, and a hanging bridge.
The kids liked starting with a horseback ride. I took the jeep up and the driver was interesting and informative. And the lunch at the end was tasty. In all an excellent day.
