We were in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, and we decided to take the day trip to the Canopy (zip lines) experience over the waterfalls. The drive was only 1/2 hour from the beach resort where we were staying. The view from the Hotel Vista Golfo was incredibly beautiful. There were three couples in the group. All of us were from the US. We rode on horseback up the mountain on sure-footed horses, and it was a leisurely ride. We saw a monkey on the way up to the waterfalls. The guides were friendly, funny and very experienced. I am afraid of heights, but the way the zip lines are configured on the mountain my fear of heights was never triggered. The waterfalls are amazing! The zip lines take in you right over the mountain stream, following the path of the waterfalls. It is beautiful and fun. The pace is just right. It's not boring at all. Mid-way through, we took a 20 minute break and jumped into a pool just beneath a waterfall. The temperature of the water was refreshing and perfect. Not too cold. I had always wanted to swim in a mountain stream under a waterfall, and it was just as fun as I thought it would be.
When we got back to the Hotel Vista Golfo, a delicious Costa Rican lunch awaited us. Our choices were chicken, pork chops or beef. We chose pork chops, and they were grilled and delicious! We were really hungry. The waiter brought us delicious, hot costa rican coffee after lunch. We wandered around the premises, exploring the mountain trails and enjoying the views...then it was time to take us back to the beach resort. We returned to the beach by 2:30 pm. A wonderful, fun day. It was our best day in Costa Rica! I highly recommend it. It wasn't too strenuous, it was all around, "just right!"

This was an amazing experience; horse riding up the mountain and zip lines all the way back down over stunning waterfalls, followed by a great lunch back at the hotel.

Unbelievable value for money....a must do for any traveller to Costa Rica.

This attraction was really fun. Since we were a larger group (17) I pre-booked our day directly with Barb in October (we went the following March08). We saved at least $10 per person by booking directly with her. From our pick up at the hotel to our return, we were well taken care of. The staff were top notch, fun and very friendly. It is a safe and exhilarting day.

Three of us decided to take their ATV tour, at the last minute and we were accommodated without any hassle. This trip was great fun for them as well.

The meal provided us with a selection from 3 items and was waiting for us upon our return. Very tasty and generous portions.

Go, go, go...

We were staying at the Doubletree Resort in Puntarenas with four teenagers and booked the canopy tour before we left home. Someone from Hotel Vista Golfo picked us up at the hotel for a very quick ride to their facility. My husband and I initially were not going to do the ziplines, but Barbara talked us into it. I'm a little afraid of heights, but after crossing the 2nd or 3rd cable, I was hooked. It was warm on the day we went, and we were able to swim at the base of one of the waterfalls which felt great. This was a wonderful way to enjoy the landscape of Costa Rica and spend time with our teens. I would recommend it to anyone. Tip: If you book directly with Hotel Vista Golfo instead of through the agent at your hotel, you will likely save money. With six doing the tour, we saved a good bit contacting them directly. Also, wear your swimsuit under your clothes so you can take a swim.
