“Monkeys, sloth, birds everywhere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

White face monkeys seem to have adopted to humans. Sloth are a common site and they just hang around up side down and come down once a week to do their biological duties and then up again.

“Beautiful and fun beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

This is the beach inside the national park, which means it has no people trying to sell you coconuts or surfing lessons. For this reason, it's very peaceful, as long as you bring some food in for a picnic. The hike to the beach is very simple and straightforward, though getting a wildlife guide makes it much more rewarding. The first beach is the biggest and most popular, and the water is warm and fun to swim in. However, if you go a little further (as if you were walking out of the beach), then you'll find some other beaches that are smaller but more quiet and scenic. Bring everything you need because you'll have to walk out to buy anything. There are bathrooms and showers available inside the park. And lots of monkeys that want to steal your food! Definitely a must visit!

“Hike and pay, before you play”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Beautiful little beach requiring a walk of over a kilometre through the park to access. There is a $10.00 fee to enter the park. If you approach the park by car you will be intercepted by locals dressed in official looking outfits trying to pull you over to park in a paid lot. These start at over a kilometre from the park entrance. If you decline them and keep driving there is a fair bit of street parking for free, much closer to the park entrance. At worst, you will still pay to park, but will reduce your walk in significantly. We went a little past the peak of the season. Free parking may be more difficult to find when it's busier.

“Hike past the beach to see monkeys”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

We didn't hire a guide and I don't think it's necessary, just keep your eyes and ears open. Many people do and it appeared that they stopped in the same spots to see monkeys from afar lying in the trees.

The beach is one of the nicest white sand blue water beaches I've ever seen and it was worth the hike in.

We hike past the beach and it was an easy hike, plus we got to see monkeys playing in the trees. They were about 3ft away from us. You will know when monkeys are around, you can hear them jumping in the trees.

“The Best Beach in Costa Rica”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

The water seems more blue. The sand a little bit whiter. The topography of Manuel Antonio also really makes this beach. The islands off shore and the rugged terrain leading to the beach make this a very special place!
