“Great location, awesome accommodations and wonderful staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We spent a lot of time trying to figure out where to stay along the stretch between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. There were so many choices and one of the few requirements (with 2 kids) was a pool and the other was easy access to places to eat. Check and check. The rates were great too as we were there towards the end of green season.

We spent our first night in the monkey room and it was a really great room - had tons of space to put our items in the armoire and the dresser, which was a nice change from some of the other places we stayed on this trip. The only problem was the air conditioning wasn't working well in this room - we let them know in the morning and they quickly moved us into the villa which was awesome - lots of space to stretch out and while the switch wasn't necessary, they were much more concerned that we have a great stay with functioning air conditioning than anything else. It was so appreciated as it was certainly hot! There are some rooms in the main building, but many are private bungalows.

Breakfast was great each day and the selection was great. No one in our family ever left the table hungry. We really enjoyed the pool. It was small but they had a great selection of pool toys for the kids to play with. There was a nice lounge area as well so I could soak up some sun while the kids kept playing. One of my favourite details at this hotel was the fact they offered towels for the pool or the beach for the guests. It was such a nice touch and very much appreciated - we used them for both!

At lunch they offer pizza by the slice with a glass of pop for $2 and it was prepared hot and fresh and very good. It's not offered on days when the park is closed (Manuel Antonio park is literally right next to the hotel), which is important to know. You could also order a whole pizza, but it was much better to go by the slice. The staff were excellent at suggestions on where to eat, things to do and really did a great job of helping us get the most out of our time in the area. They even had flashlights in the rooms, which was important for walking back to the hotel after dinner.

I also loved the laundry service - we took advantage of this in several places on our 3+ weeks traveling around - it was the best, most affordable of all of those that we used. I can't say enough about this feature.

Truly, a great place to stay, nothing bad to say about it at all. Even had lovely soft, fluffy towels in the rooms. Might seem like an odd comment, but the towels across the country left a lot to be desired. Ragged, torn, rough...these were much more common than the wonderful fresh towels at La Posada - and face clothes, hand towels. A joy to behold. Not to mention there was soap AND shampoo in the rooms - that was the only place on our trip that had this and it was so welcome, to say the least. It was a two-in-one conditioning shampoo, but it was great. The daily cleaning service for the rooms was very thorough and the fridge in the rooms was a well used feature as well. Wi-fi reception was great throughout the property and the computer in the breakfast area was available for all guests who may not have had a device with them.

Would highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat. Just nothing bad to say about it, at all.

Room Tip: Not sure there is a bad room here at all. Just a perfect spot to stay.

It is true that you can not get closer to the entrance to the park. That makes it rather busy right outside the door. I felt a little bit like I was at a cruise ship port with all of the people trying to sell you things. Fortunately, it all quiets down when the park closes. The grounds are much smaller than they appear in the photos and the pool is tiny. Our room had a screened in porch, but most of the screens were broken (probably from the monkeys reaching in with their arms), so we couldn't sit out there at night. The staff is accommodating and it was very nice to have use of the washer (when they are not washing linens for the room). The breakfast was adequate, but I had much better at some of the other places we stayed. You can walk to the beach and walk to a few restaurants and of course, walk right into the park. I would try not to be there on National Park day again, since the admission was free, it was like trying to see wildlife in Times Square. Parking is included, so it is a good value for the money.

I really enjoy my stay at La Posada jungle bungalows at Manuel Antonio National park. It is a great location next to the entrance to the park and only a 3 minute walk to the ocean and the best beach in Costa Rica at Manuel Antonio. The hotel includes a delicious breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is eccelent.

Room Tip: La posada is a fantastic room near the pool and very quiet.

We stayed at La Posada Private Jungle Bungalows in. It was our favorite hotel out of the whole trip. The staff made us feel like family. They were all very helpful and accommodating. We had the Monkey Room. It was large, clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but that was alright with us. The location is great. The meals were delicious. Wifi is strong throughout the facilities. But the best thing about it was the welcome, comfortable atmosphere. Mike, Estefan, and Jonathan were superb hosts. We stayed at 3 different hotels during our 10 day visit. Most of them had more stars in their rating. But we think La Posada was 5 star all the way!

My wife and I spent a week here in August and we absolutely loved it! It is within minutes of the beach and the entrance to the national park is 10 feet outside the door. The park borders the hotel grounds and there are frequent visits by the park residents. The staff is great and set up all of our tours and do a great job. We loved it so much we are going to come back with our kids next year. Kudos to Mike and Johnathan and the rest of the staff! They made it a home away from home.

We are a family of 4 (kids 15 & 12) and stayed in their "Villa". Wonderful 2 level spot, roomy. Beautiful jungle grounds, pool. Nice hosts. Felt excellent coming home from a day of hiking & beaching. Free computer use and free USA/ Canada telephone.

Room Tip: The Villa was excellent and private.

La Posada was the perfect place to stay for our group. Our room was spotless everyday, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, and Mike and all of the staff are super friendly and helpful. They booked all of our tours for us, arranged a driver back to the airport, and were there whenever we needed them. They have movies you can borrow at the front, and they keep you informed about what is going on around town each day. The location of the hotel is wonderful - walking distance to so many things; the park, the beach, restaurants and shops. The overall vibe of the place is so relaxed, I can see going for an extended stay. We stayed at 3 hotels during our visit and this was by far our favorite. Great for families - young and old!

Room Tip: The casa is roomy enough for 6 people, easily.
