Descended slightly down the hill to boutique hotel with depeche mode, offspring, soundgarden playing at a reasonable volume. Outstanding cocktails with a hh. Well cared for dogs scatter the restaurant/bar area. Hospitable staff gently nudges the spa menu in front of you while checking in (and do indulge!). Reminds you of hosteling in Europe after college, but much classier.
We stayed in the Iguana pad room with great view. Ceiling fans and A/C. Bathroom a little cramped. Spacious with a nice porch with rocking chairs. Pool delightful. View breathtaking. Staff very helpful. Watching ~50 squirrel monkeys with infants on their backs cross the road via telephone wire only added to it all. About 20min downhill to the private beach, 3km to the public beach, 5min uphill to good restaurants.
Lowest marks on the coffee at the breakfast and the loud noise of some electronic device(easily drowned by a/c white noise) at night, but that's it.
Great place, great value, great atmosphere, helpful staff.
