“I'd stay here every time and, at least once, want my friends to stay here too before I die”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

Outstanding service, beautiful location, excellent food and drinks. Love the suites, the staff, the recomended tours, the mascots, the monkeys, birds, trees, the pool...We had a wonderful stay!

There was a good variety of breakfast lunch and dinner options in the menu and the food was done carefully and served diligently. I loved that the service was quick and accurate every time.

The ambience is generally quite comfortable, relaxing, and friendly. There's always someone at the lobby with a friendly smile and a willingness to serve and help. Although all of the staff was very welcoming and eager and ready to help we mostly got to know Arlín, at the front desk, and Donna, the owner, who were especially helpful, warmhearted, and attentive with us. Although I didn't get the chef's name, I remember she always made anything we asked for, at any time and with a big smile...it was delicious and well done!

Again...although we might have not gotten to know all of the staff, even if just having seen some of them only a few times, I can say everyone there was very kind, helpful , and quick to smile.

“Mango Magic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

From the moment I walked through the doors of the Mango Moon, I knew I stumbled onto something. It has everything you'd want in a hotel; a great location, ocean views, good food and a chill vibe. But the real magic of this place is the people. I can't say enough positive things about the owner Donna, Geralyn, Tito
( You again!?!?) and the rest of the incredible staff at the Mango Moon.

Make sure you go on a Tuesday or Thursday so you can grab a sunset cocktail and listen to some LIVE music. The setting is intimate, fun, and don't be surprised if you end up going to the next place with everyone.

So stop searching, book, and get ready to eat some seriously good banana pancakes.

“Would go back in a heartbeat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Excellent place to stay! Wonderful rooms! Wonderful views of ocean. Monkeys all around-best food we tasted was at hotel! Recommend banana pancakes and huevos rancheros. Staff was great as well. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner but it wasn't that bad. Would go back and stay any time.

“Families Favorite Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Of the five places we stayed in Costa Rica, the Mango Moon and Manuel Antonio is on the top of our list. The room was perfect for a family travelling with teenagers. They had their own room seperated from ours by the bathroom and closet. We had a private balcony that was perfect for watching the monkeys and parakeets pass by in the morning and having a cocktail while watching the sunset in the evening. The rooms were clean and are not your typical hotel room. The decor is much more personal and unique. The open air dining and food is fabulous. I cannot say enough about the staff, who felt like friends by the time we left. Being there on Christmas night they made sure we were well fed!! The walk to the beaches is invigorating and worth every step. They made arrangements for everything from guided wildlife tours to snorkeling trips to manicures. Having a couple of cats and dogs around really made it feel like home. I would definetly recommend staying there!

“Keeps Getting Better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This was our second visit to Mango Moon. We stayed in the Howler Hangout for six nights. It was just great! Lots of monkeys and their babies were always around entertaining us in the trees outside the room. The room was comfortable, clean and private. We enjoyed the king-size bed. It is a firm bed. Just be aware: if you are at all squeamish about no toilet paper in the toilet, well, you'd best go to some big hotel somewhere else.

The service was excellent for both breakfast and when we returned from our day excursions for happy hour (4-6). The menu has some changes. We enjoyed the Thai lettuce wraps, shrimp quesadillas and fish tacos.

The staff was always courteous to call promptly for cabs, take our orders, and make calls for whatever we wanted to check out to do. Their local knowledge was helpful for suggesting a restaurant and other things to do.

We were so pleasantly surprised with the live acoustic jams on Tuesday and Thurday! No cover charge! The music is superb. Various artists take turns, much like an open mic night. All are extremely talented and seem to blend together like they've always been together (but have not). The music has to end at about 9 so as not to disturb the other guests. We wished it could go on longer!

Donna, the owner, makes everyone feel welcome. Her fondness for animals is apparent. We enjoyed her dogs and cats. These dogs and cats were not intrusive to us. They are very sweet. If you do not like being around animals, then maybe you will be offended, so be aware they they are sometimes present.

Mango Moon is walking distance to other good restaurants and the beach. However, it is mountainous there, so be prepared. The main roads are paved, but there are many dirt roads. Be very careful of the fast drivers - they come close!

If you're looking for a laid-back good time, you have found it at Mango Moon.
