“Get the fish balls!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014 via mobile

We were walking around looking for somewhere to eat after our night tour of rainforest and saw this place. We were greeted at the outside menu board and the lady that worked there was very welcoming. We ordered the sampler to share and was more than enough food. Everything was delicious!

“Fresh Food ~ Fun Decor ~ Great Price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Eating out on vacation can add up quickly! We were thrilled when we found El Gato Fish and Chips right on the main road in MA. If you are staying in or near Tulemar you can walk there. We all (family of 4) ordered the fish tacos and every one loved the light batter, fresh fish and delish sauces. We also loved the onion rings and the french fries too! El Gato is casual dining at it's best!

“mixed feelings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

It was raining and I heard that they deliver. We called from Tulemar and they said the delivery person was not there but they would deliver anyway. Grateful for the effort. I didn't realize until the next day when I walked down that way how close they actually were. We ordered a sampler...tacos, fish and fish balls. We asked for cole slaw and tartar and chipotle sauce. I met who I think was the owner at the Tulemar gate. When I got back to the bungalow there was no cole slaw or either sauce. Was looking forward to trying the chipotle sauce. The fish balls were not our thing...didn't like the texture. The fish and fish tacos were fresh, but kinda bland. I think the sauce would have made all the difference. Not bad and the price was right.

“Yum! Went There Twice!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014 via mobile

We were in Manuel Antonio at a 5-star hotel for 5 days and the food here beat our hotel's hands down and for 1/10 the price! The owner is a gem, the cook a genius and the wait staff super nice. We ate here twice. The best fish tacos ever and the freshest fish in the tastiest batter we've ever had. Yum!! For an extra treat, grab a ice cream cone afterward next door. You'll be stuffed but oh, so happy and not broke.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

My wife and I had the fish and chips and 2 fish tacos. We are from San Diego, so we were a little skeptical as to how the fish tacos would stack up. Needless to say, they were fantastic. The chipotle sauce was spicy, but not over the top and really complimented the fish. The fish and chips were fantastic and both dishes were made with snapper. All in all, the meal was outstanding and reasonably priced as well!!! They also had outstanding WiFi which was a real plus!!!
