“Great hotel despite the dingy room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

I stayed in this hotel for five nights and, like anywhere, there were pros and cons.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff. You couldn't have asked for more friendly and helpful people. The lady on reception was hugely welcoming as were the staff in the pool-side bar.

The food was also superb. And, to make things even better, the hotel owner included breakfast free of charge. Furthermore, there was a number of different types of breakfast to choose from including a typical Costa Rican breakfast.

My only criticism was that my room, although quite big, was a tad dingy in that there was no natural light.

Some people may also find the hotel's location quite difficult. It's on the main road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio and, those used to pavements, will have to get used to J-walking and to buses and other vehicles flying past in close proximity.

Overall, this is a very good hotel and represents excellent value for money.

The hotel is located in the right place and the right distance from the Park but we have some issues with the room. Since we had people in the room above, for some reason their footsteps always made a lot of noise and we had issues trying to sleep at night. Maybe the ceiling is not sound proof... And the toilet flush from another room caused our toilet to make noise and move in and out the water... It seemed like we had flush ours... And it wets the seat. The good thing is that the water was clean, we stayed at room 11. We recommend to stay in an upper room, maybe the issues are related to the room location

After all the overpriced places in Costa Rica we were so happy to find this spot. The hotel actually looks like the photos shown and the free breakfast is large and tasty. The couple that own the restaurant are SUPER helpful...their male employee did not give very good service, but we would definitely would stay here again!

This review is a little overdue, but we really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean, comfortable and welcoming and the owners are really friendly. The location is quite convenient for visiting Manuel Antonio beaches. There are some fun restaurants and bars nearby including a beach restaurant built into the wreckage of an old plane, and an outdoor beach chance club where we attended a late night jungle rave. Overall a really fun stay.

I decided not to stay in a 4 star hotel this time around near the National Park Manuel Antonio and try out a hotel for a traveler with a restricted budget. How pleasantly I was surprised. This location is very clean, and comfortable and geared towards the majority of tourists visiting Costa Rica. Even more surprising is its Restaurant Buro at the Poolside serving local dishes, which have been prepared with such great care, the flavors and perfumes are jumping of the plate and into your nostrils. The simplicity with which the preparation takes place is all the more a must for trying it out. Many locals go to this restaurant, and when a local dines in one of their own restaurants geared towards tourists, it must be good and it is. It is the biggest compliment a restaurant can get. Recommended.

The hotel is nice and clean. It is a few miles away from the national park but as most hotels here are. When I visited the hotel had a room special for $56 a night with breakfast for two, but the usual rate is around $70. If I traveled to Manuel Antonio would stay again no doubt! The pool is nice too! It's a great bang for the buck considering the destination is an expensive one! Recommended for the tourist on a budget!

Location is very convenient, close to town Quepos , Parque Manuel Antonio and beaches, bus stops right there. Hotel has 2 pools plus 2 Jacuzzi, lots of tropical plants and plenty of chair to relax around pools and gardens. Many different rooms to choose (during low season) fully furnished and comfortable, air conditioner.
Recommended to include breakfast, it's good, generous and served by pool. They also offer
lunch and dinner, reputed to be one of best restaurant around at affordable values.
Parking is included as well Internet.
Staff attentive, efficient and quite friendly.

Room Tip: close to pool, best the top suite, larger than 4 standard room, huge balcony, rap around views, high...
