“Last moment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We ran into this hotel last moment. We had an ocean view room that was very clean and had A/C. This was a great stay specially since we only payed $50. If you take the beach exit through the hotel and then take a left there is a little bar on the beach that is fun to hang out on.
Also this is walking distance to the park.

Overall i definitively recommend this.

If you are looking for 5 star service, this is not the place for you. However, if you are on a budget and are looking to be right on the beach then you will love this hotel. My husband and I only stayed three nights at this particular hotel. I only have one negative thing to say, and that is that the rooms were not very clean. The hotel grounds seemed fine, but the room wasn't cleaned well at all. The swimming pool and the views were excellent! Great hotel for your money!

Out of four weeks in Costa Rica, in this intimate hotel, from our room, we saw the most wildlife! Three toed sloth, a hairy porcupine, squirrel monkeys, a prehistoric dragon ( looked like it ) very large lizard really and an aviary of birds. The park next door I guess allow for great sightings. The service here as well was excellent, felt like we were saying goodbye to family. The dining area is small but the chef is exceptional. Omar made us a curry seafood linguine; clams, shrimp, octopus, mussels and white fish, even though we were there for low season. We really liked this place, simple but clean, excellent service and Omar really needs to have his talents used more. Beach is right there in front of the hotel. We often visited the beach bar/restaurant which was minutes away as well. Exceptional stay!!!!

Room Tip: We had the last room on the second floor. More privacy, no one walking past you, and closest to the...

We reserved 3 rooms for 2 nights with 'Anywhere Costa Rica' and a fourth couple came with us and reserved their room at checkin. Our room had no hot water in the sink and ants all over the kitchen counter and when our friend sat on one of the beds in her shorts she stood up with a strange rash on the back of her leg.
My daughter, her husband and 8 month old baby had a room with mold growing in the bathroom.
Our friend's rooms had dead crabs on the bathroom floor which shows they don't clean the rooms very well.
My daughter had fallen and we needed ice and a Band-Aid but they had neither for her leg.

All of the rooms had dirty sheets with bugs and dirt on the floor. They were all disgusting enough to make us leave shortly after arriving. They would only allow us half of our money back but at that point we just wanted to leave! We went down the street to the San Bada with a 100% difference in rooms and staff!

The pictures on their website shows wrought iron beds...We never saw that room! Their website changed since I first made the reservations and a lot of their claims of amenities did also. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
.

Room Tip: Go to any other hotel you can find and it is doubtful it will be as dirty as this one.

a review of the pictures on this site just makes we want to go back again!!!! the ocean so close, the wildlife frequent, a/c rooms for a good sleep, pleasant cleaning staff, helpful front desk staff. best time of year is after november and before april. seems to attract both families and couples, so no noisy nites with parties etc, kitchenette works well for us, ate out in the evening but made our own breakfast & lunch. :)

I stayed here with my girlfriend for four days, and we had a blast. We stayed in room 209, which has a view of the ocean and the pool, and is upstairs. The room was very clean and comfortable, and did not have any of the cheap feel of some other hotels in Central America. While we were there a sloth was living above us under the roof (outside of course), and we loved watching it sleep during the day and climb around at night. I'm used to travelling on a shoestring, but I wanted to stay somewhere nicer with my girl, and this place was great. Hot water, lots of space, all the kitchen amenities you need, and it's literally on the beach - we felt like we had our own private area of the beach, as it's a lot more crowded as you head south towards the main part of town.

If you like being independent (cooking a few meals and finding your entertainment and meals outside of the hotel) and want a great place to call home base as you explore the area, I highly recommend this place. It is where I'll stay if I return to Manuel de Antonio.

Room Tip: I stayed in 209, it was awesome. Get it if you can! I also heard that the new rooms, in the new se...

One of the very few hotels actually on the beach. Most have a full kitchen with everything you need. Front desk staff was great- very helpful and friendly. They all seemed to work very long days but managed to always be friendly. The highlight was the close proximity to Manuel Antonio Park and the sound of waves crashing at night. There was even a sloth napping in the trees just outside our room! The price is a great value for the pool, a kitchen and the great location. While this is not the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in, it is a GREAT VALUE for everything you get. I would ABSOLUTELY go back! It is about a 5 minute walk to a ton of restaurants and food markets. We cooked our own brekkie every morning in the room.

Room Tip: We were in room 209, the last one on the end upstairs. Very private with beach views from the deck...
