The hotel is in an excellent location. As we found out, the strange thing about the Manuel Antonio is that the "nicer" hotels are up the hill. Apparently they have a great view, but you'd have to cab/drive to get to the beach or national park. The more budget hotels are closer to the beach. This one was, I thought, the best location out of all of them. There was a short boardway walk onto a beautiful beach. The beach sometimes had strong riptides, so we had to watch for that as we had a 4 and 6 year old with us. But they were able to play in the waves and boogie board. The best part was that we could (even with our small kids) walk to Manuel Antonio National Park. The beach in the park is BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING for small kids. So we walked to and through the park, spotting monkeys, sloths, spiders, sleeping bats, all the way to the amazing beach. And then came back early afternoon to play in the pool and on the beach. The "typical hotel type rooms" looked bright and sunny. Unfortunately, we had requested the room with a seperate bedroom, which was tucked under the stairs, and was dark and stank. The futon the kids slept on looked disgusting, and the floor underneath I swear has not been swept in years. With this hotel, you have to know you are not here for the hotel, it's for the location. I would stay here again, but NOT in the room with a seperate bedroom, I would stay in one of the more typical hotel rooms. The website pictures are super deceiving. I would look elsewhere before rebooking here, but as I said, would consider staying in one of the other rooms. The location was hard to beat!
