“Restaurant was poor at best.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This evening myself and friends dined in the 'World Class' restaurant at La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio.

The menu seemed to have a good selection and the views from the property were breathtaking. The service was slow with the wrong wine being brought then a warm bottle of what we ordered being chilled at the table.

The food came quickly and the appetizers were nice, but the main dishes were underwhelming, I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the waiter, who tried to make a joke then disappeared, then came back to say he had spoken to the Captain who had offered desserts or a discount. We all decided that we just wanted to leave at that point, the waiter came back and spoke to my friend in Spanish, again mentioning 'the Captain'.

The manager was not visible, the food was some of the worst seafood I have ever had served at a restaurant. I would not recommend this hotel, there are much better places in Manuel Antonio.

“What can I say...AMAZING:):):)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

What a beautiful hotel. The view is to die for, we had the full ocean view room. The room over looked the rain forest and the ocean. As for the service...that too was amazing. There are alot of things to do near by. If you don't plan on renting a car you can take the shuttle to the beach. Other attractions are also near by and within walking distance from the beach. We felt very safe walking around by ourselves. This hotel is perfect for couples. Although all the staff were friendly and helpfull, we have to extended a very gracious thank you to Andrey and Phillipe, they went above and beyond our expectations. We plan on returning next year.

“Just eh - but nice view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Hotel room was ok. First room was large but had the atmosphere of a dorm room. Next room was a bit more bright but smaller. Clean and basic, but not exceptional. Limited menu for dinner but was nice that breakfast was a good perk as it was included. Took more than one call for room requests (towels, etc). Hotel has a good location and easy to drive to MA park, other restaurants, Jaco, and other towns. Rating it a 3 for location and view, but would not re-visit.

“Most incredible stay ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Our very first review of a hotel. We had to say something about how wonderful this place is. The view was breathtaking and the staff was most helpful, even to the point that they went above and beyond to help us with a flat tire. You will never have a more beautiful setting for breakfast In the world.

“Would go back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world to have breakfast or watch the sunset with a drink in your hand. The view is fantastic! We also found every one of the staff to be friendly and willing to help us in any way possible. Our family includes our daughter with multiple disabilities and once they got to know us, they would anticipate our needs (she is not in a wheelchair and can climb stairs). It was convenient to work out the days activities, including booking excursions, with the very competent concierge/s at the front desk. What was quite a treat for everyone was watching the monkeys from pool side, but besides the pool there are limited activities for small children. As far as other restaurants, many are within walking distance. To be honest, the minor inconveniences with the room such as not enough place to put clothes or spotty internet access, were minor and I would highly recommend this lovely spot to everyone.
