I had three friends from the states to entertain during the rainy season so I rented the airplane house. It was great and amazing all at the same time. The view was great and we loved the bedrooms and baths!!!!! The monkeys came out first thing in the a.m. For a bit of frolicking! They seem to like the plane!
I would highly recommend this crib!

Let's start with the restaurants:: One open for breakfast only, BBQ open at night, Wagon open at night-Pizza only, El Avion open at noon. NO HAPPY HOUR like most of the other restaurants and hotels in the area who DO have a happy hour. Menu was stateside prices and, compared to other restaurants, MUCH higher. We stayed in Penthouse for 10 days We wanted no A/C: and got it.our building was under renovation, so starting at 0730-2100 we experienced, sledge hammering, hammers, hammer drills, radial arm saws, polyurethane painting that would gag you, etc. Forget a nap or sleeping late. What did they do to compensate us? Free Breakfast! What a deal! Less than 10 % of room cost!! They couldn't move us to the airplane, for example, since it was just as bad there! I would have shut down the hotel to complete and then let people back in. Pool under renovation....until our last three days. TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY. Hotel staff was great, especially waiters in the restaurant for breakfast....the ONLY reason we stayed. We won't go back. We can eat in the states just as inexpensive. They're converting to all A/C which will ruin the ambiance....you can do A/C in a Marriott, but you could have lived a bit of Costa Rica in the jungle surrounded by exotic birds, monkeys, lizards, Iguana, etc.....

This was my second time in Costa Verde - this time we splurged on the 727 and spent the night in the plane perched on the cliff - what an unforgettable experience! We loved everything about Costa Verde - each cabin feels like it is the only one with total seclusion. the pools are beautiful and the food is fantastic. Views are to die for!! Make sure you hit the Cantina when the Jungle Boys are playing - nothing beats 80's music sung with spanish accents - SO MUCH FUN! I think there really were more monkeys than people - makes breakfast interesting each day. This was the only place in Costa Rica we stayed that breakfast was not included and it was a little pricey so budget accordingly!! Staff was great all over the property - they even moved our suitcases from one room to the plane for us and they were there for us in the evening when we came back from the beach - NICE!!

The Costa Verde is a really jungly place with all kinds of cool nature and animals running around. The monkeys crash through the trees all around you all the time and they will come around for breakfast. The view from the pool overlooking Manuel Antonio bay is possibly the best in Costa Rica. Rooms are very spacious and you are getting a lot for your money here.
