We hope that you will accept our sincerest apologies. Our management staff is looking into the matter and works hard daily to ensure that all of the staff here adheres to a policy of “the customer comes first.” We believe, and truly hope, that this is a terrible misunderstanding. We wish that it was brought to our attention when it occurred so that we could have taken measure to rectify it immediately and ensure that you completed and enjoyed your stay with us.

We do feel that our prices reflect the value of our accommodations appropriately. We have mid-range prices in comparison to other area hotels. While we are not considered luxury, and we do not strive to be, we do offer a one-of-kind vacation experience. Our extraordinary views, both ocean and jungle, adult-only accommodations, distinct and sustainable architecture and four unique restaurants are just a few of the amenities that so many of our guests find special about us.

In addition, over the years we have worked to create a variety of room styles – from economy and efficiency to our penthouse – in the hopes of never having to turn any traveler away. With these room options, and flexible room rates in low season, we are usually able to accommodate any budget. We take pride in being able to provide a vacation home to nearly all travelers, regardless of budget, in this often expensive and popular destination of Manuel Antonio. We are shocked to hear that any of our staff would cast judgment on any traveler, for any reason. Again, it is our hope that it was a misunderstanding. We should also note that no one on staff speaks French as was noted in your review. But, we will most definitely seek to uncover more details and ensure that it does not happen in the future.

The lizards/geckos that may have visited you in your room are a little more difficult to apologize for as they are a way of life here in the jungle of Costa Rica. We do our best to use environmentally friendly products and solid building practices to keep “visitors” out, but we are not always 100% successful. The good news about geckos is that they likely gobbled up any mosquitoes that may have entered the room when opening and closing the doors☺

We are unclear about why our parking was not suitable as we do have ample parking for each area of the hotel. Sometimes guests are unaware of just how large the premises are and that we have a fair amount of stairs. We are working on a new webpage that more clearly describes the layout of our buildings, parking lots and restaurants and their proximity to each other and the beach. We have used crafty construction and natural materials to nestle ourselves into the hillside of Manuel Antonio and in order to create a jungle retreat that affords the best views for guests while not disturbing the wildlife too much.

Most importantly regardless of where the communication breakdown occurred there is never an excuse for any staff member to be unkind or rude to our guests. We do apologize if anyone here at Costa Verde made you feel unwelcome. We intend to work with our Reception staff to make sure that everyone understands that “how we make people feel” is paramount when servicing guests. We only get one chance to make a first impression and we are saddened to hear that we left you with a poor one. We hope that you will try us out again if you’re visiting the area again one day.
