“Heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We stayed for 6 days in this hotel and found it to be peaceful, clean, and very willing to please there guests. It is small, but what it is able to provide in service is incredilble. The maid service is top notch! I was greeted with a new towel art and fresh flowers daily. The rooms are spotless! The decor is tasteful. Views are amazing! We dined everynight at the hotel and were never disappointed, terrific chief, he even came out one night to ask if everthing was to our satisfaction. Jesus and Juan Carlos I see that they shine in every review, same for us! They really know how to make you feel welcome. Bart in the bar we cant thank you enough for finding our camera and returning it to us!! Speaks to the intergrity of this hotel. Thanks for a fantastic trip!

Room Tip: We had room six which is right next to the top level of the pool and down the hall to the bar, Very...

“Great hotel and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

It's a good thing we decided to discount the cranky review from one former patron. Not sure why he was so unhappy because we had a great time. Damian was very accommodating and upgraded us to a wonderful suite that was huge. He arranged our tour for us, took care of a restaurant reservation and taxi for us and worked out another upgrade for lunches and drinks. The bartenders, Juan Carlos and Jesus, were so attentive and friendly and took great care to make sure we were happy...even tried to help us with our Spanish. Bart from the Bat Cave Bar was entertaining and funny and introduced us to a cool drink of the day. We had one good dinner in the restaurant and then ventured to Kapi Kapi which was another great choice. Would definately go back; We travel a lot and are not that easy to please!

Thank you for overlooking the negative review, there seems to be some people that are very hard to please. It was great to hear you compliment our staff and mention them by name, I will be sure to pass the message along to Damian, Juan Carlos, Jesus and Bart and let them know you appreciated their service. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

“beautiful boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

we live in San Jose and have been to Manuel Antonio before and for this time we wanted a change of pace.. a smaller, quite more private setting for the weekend. we found la mansion on trip advisor where we find all our hotels we stay. the hotel is beautiful, small only 24 rooms but you aren't bumping in to people like you would think, not a lot of people at the pool ;-) nice for us. the food was amazing, all house made dishes. the service was great as well, we loved hanging out in the bat cave with Johnathan and Bart, they were great hosts.
i really liked the beds, i usually have a difficult time sleeping at hotels because the beds are so uncomfortable. the only thing i would say was a negative is the pool bar opening at 11-11;30. I like the sun in the morning and a few others as well were thirsty and wanted some service. so that's really the only thing i would change. i am returning to the la mansion at the end of march with my friend who is coming from Seattle, this hotel will be perfect for us to have a nice girls weekend, with sun and fruity drinks by the pool.

“Lovely boutique hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The staff were very friendly and efficient; for example they remembered what we take in our morning coffee. The food was incredible - the chef really knows what he's doing. There's a terrace above the pool with a panoramic view - absolutely beautiful. We walked to the local beach - lots of monkeys in the trees, a sandy beach and clean, warm ocean water. At first our room seemed a little dark, but it was spotless, quiet, comfortable, and we grew to really like it. We really enjoyed sitting on our private balcony in the morning and listening to the birds and monkeys. The staff arranged some tours for us - Manuel Antonio park, mangrove boat tour and rainmaker tour of an old-growth forest replete with a series of suspension bridges and plenty of photo ops. When we left the hotel to return home, we felt like we were leaving our friends behind. We'd return again for the friendly staff, the food, the views, the monkeys that play in the trees on the property and the iguana that suns itself on the dining room terrace every morning.

It is always great to hear from our guests who have returned home, and your comment when you said you felt like you were leaving "friends" behind really encourages us since this is our primary statement we like to share with all of our potential guests. - "come as a guest, leave as a friend"
We hope to see you again soon!

“Absolutely amazing views and great service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

My wife and I stayed at La Mansion the first week of December, 2012. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very welcoming staff and was taken on a tour of the hotel- we were each given a complimentary tropical cocktail as well. We asked about an upgraded room as we were on our honeymoon. We were told that they would not have an ungraded room available until the next day but they would be happy to move us. They said to first check out our views from our balcony as we had one of the best views in the hotel (first room on the second floor). We didn't end up moving because our view was breath-taking (huge balcony also). We were surrounded by rainforest and had an amazing view of the ocean and beach. One negative is that the room and hotel in general was outdated- could use a little update. Cannot say enough about the staff- they were extremely friendly and very helpful. We would recommend this hotel just because of their staff! The breakfasts were very good and you had a variety of choices. Didn't eat any other meals here though- thought the prices were too expensive compared to other finer restaurants in the area. The drinks were also great but a little overpriced- they did have a happy hour every day which was great! We would recommend this hotel as the views were amazing and the staff was outstanding!
