Staff was very nice. Upgraded us to suite, which was beautiful with incredible views. Food was good for breakfast, we ate there on night and I'd call in just OK. Bat Cave bar was a joke--found it claustrophobic and super hot. Overall, I would absolutely recommend staying there. Make sure you ask where the trail is down to the beach-it's a really nice walk to a fairly secluded beach.

Our experience with La Mansion started a few months before we even checked in. We booked a junior suite for a couple days after new years and I decided to surprise my boyfriend with a night of in room dinning and massages. Rosalie and Larissa were in constant contact with me to ensure that I had the menu I wanted and that the couple's massage was perfectly set up prior to our arrival.

Once we got there, we were in awe. The hotel grounds were beautiful! And everyone was so helpful, from Rosalie and Larissa to Dimitri at the front desk to Chris, the pool bartender. Our room was decorated with flowers everyday when we got back from our excursions. We were given a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine for our private dinner. On the Saturday of our stay, the hotel had set up a party for its guest with dinner, live music and a dance troop. Unfortunately, we all had to come in because it started to rain. They felt so bad that the party had been rained out that they were offering complimentary bottles of wine and after dinner cordials to all of us. We still hadn't even opened our first complimentary bottle of wine, so we just accepted a glass! Everyone who worked there took such pride in the hotel. We never passed a single employee who didn't happily wish us "pura vida"!

As for the negative comments that the others have left, I can't believe they could complain. You are in Costa Rica. Please don't wine about road conditions! We didn't have any issues with service, but if we had, there would have been at least 2 people that we could have notified at any time that would have jumped at the chance to make our stay more comfortable.

So, if you are thinking about booking a stay at La Mansion Inn, all I can say is that you won't be disappointed. It ended up being the highlight of our trip!

After staying in many hotels in CR over the years - this was the best. Top notch service, smiling faces and top notch views. We loved our stay here and recommend it for all. It's easy to park here and the hotel is on the road with all the other 4-5 star places ( mariposa, palomar, etc).

We stayed in Penthouse 1 and then 2 due to a switch. It's the only way to go! Booked through travelocity with ease -

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and had an excellent time. The hotel is beautiful with very nice rooms and gorgeous views. The staff is very nice and attentive and we did not have any problems whatsoever. The breakfasts were included with our stay and they are delicious! We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and that was very good as well. The only drawback is that the hotel is not walking distance to anything but a small beach (which is nice, but not very exciting). Manuel Antonio Beach and National Park is about a $7 cab ride from the hotel, though there is a free shuttle to and from the hotel that runs 4X a day. The only other minor critique we have is that the only food available for room service is from the restaurant menu, which is a bit fancy- so when my husband and I were looking to just order something simple to our room, we ended up having to spend $100 on the restaurant menu. Other than that, we highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice romantic getaway!
