“Paradise!”

Hotel Si Como No

Si Como No was everything and more than we could have hoped for. This was our honeymoon and we booked this hotel because the hotel we had originally wanted to stay in was full. Si Como No had great reviews, plus vacancies! From the second we pulled up to the hotel, we knew we had done the right thing! The view as we walked through the front door was breathtaking, the service impeccable, yet not at all stuffy. This was the place for us!

We saw 3 different rooms and all had fabulous views of both the rain forest and the pacific; the food was the best in the area (especially the delicious Beef Tenderloin for $11!); the adult pool was peaceful, had great views and a great swim up bar; the spa services were luxurious and reasonably priced; the hotel was located only minutes from Manuel Antonio National Park and Beach - and there was a free shuttle to and from the park; there were other bars and restaurants within walking distance of Si Como No; sloth, monkeys and iguanas roamed the property freely and naturally; everyone was very friendly; oh, and did I mention how wonderful the staff were?!!

What a place! We have wonderful memories of Costa Rica and Si Como No. We can't wait to go back.

Si Como is the ideal resort for a trip to manuel antonio. The property is extremely well maintained (teeming with wildlife) and the staff is almost falling over themselves to help you with every aspect of your trip. My girlfriend and I stayed over Superbowl weekend this year loved everything from the swim-up bars and pools (especially the new adult pool) to the food and drinks at the two restaurants located on the property. They offer great shuttle service to and from the national park and all the tours they recommended were first rate (we did the canopy, catamaran, and kayak tours). We stayed in a standard room and it was perfect, comfortable bed, large room with amazing view of the jungle and ocean, perfect AC and large bathroom with great shower pressure. We saw a sloth climbing on top of one of the bars and in a tree right next to the restaurant. There was an iguana named "tequila" sunning itself by the lounges everyday and titi monkeys joined us at breakfast.

We had a great time. Our room was small but had everything we needed. The views are spectacular and the pool has a swim up bar. the landscaping is lush and filled with monkeys and birds. And don't miss getting a massage, their aps staff is top-notch.

We couldn't get into Coste Verde, so picked Si Como No and we weren't
disappointed (but we didn't see C.V. so we can't compare). Our room had a view of the ocean, a kitchen which was an extra bonus. The iguanas and geckos and birds were all around and howler monkeys visited the frog and butterfly farm across the street. We went on lots of tours, thanks to the really friendly and gracious staff. Our room was quiet because it was away from the pool, and some people might object to the distance but there were iguanas and scenic bridges along the way which made every walk pleasant.

The two pools with underwater seats at the bar were great, even though we didn't use the bar. The adult pool had a shaded area, a small waterfall, and the other pool had a water slide. The views were terrific, the rooms were clean, the nearby tours--horseback riding, Manuel Antonio, canopy tours on cables, night creature tours across the street--were lots of fun and we really appreciated the tour guides. The gift shop seemed uninteresting except for the free (if you took tours) internet access. Restaurants nearby had great sunset views and good food.

One criticism was the main restaurant (not the breakfast place, which was included in the room price and very good and plentiful and service was prompt) where the service was --well, it was as if as soon as a worker took your request they disappeared into a black hole, never to appear again. The workers were friendly enough, and different ones appeared but we had to ask for water 5 times from five different people, all of whom then vanished forever. When we asked for the check it took a half hour to arrive, and then only when we got up to hunt down someone else to ask. I know that in Costa Rica the restaurants don't bring checks after the meal is finished and let you sit forever chatting or looking at the stars, which is OK, but we had to practically beg for the privilege of signing our room number and really considered just walking out. The food was even better and cheaper at nearby restaurants, so don't bother with the Si Como No main restaurant.
