“Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We stayed 5 nights in a deluxe room. The views were amazing and the room was clean. The second bed was a pull out, so not super comfortable. We absolutely loved the pools and swim up bars. Really enjoyed the breakfast, which had something for everyone. Thought the staff was friendly and efficient. We booked four "tours" with the hotel, which were all excellent. Very conveniently located to several restaurants and there is a shuttle that goes back and forth to the beach. We saw two movies in the on site theater, which was really fun. My family, including two teenagers, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Dear Shelley H:

Greetings from Manuel Antonio beach!! We thank you for your kind review and we are glad that you enjoyed our amenities an our own brand of “The Magic of Nature!!” One of our main goals is for families is to enhance their vacation time together. After reading your review we feel we met and perhaps exceeded our goal, along with the exceptional and friendly Costa Rican experiences in the resort and with many tours & activities that you enjoyed. We look forward to have you & your family as repeat guests and hopefully include our sister hotels, near Corcovado National Park and San Ramon, that are also members of Greentique Hotels of Costa Rica.

My wife and I love this hotel, it was friendly, welcoming, no bug issues...just a little baby gecko in the room on one occasion. They pour a good drink and are in good walking distance from a bunch of good local restaurants and bars (Don't miss out on El Avion, A Nicaraguan Contra Affair C-123 that is now a bar). The shuttle service to the national park and public beach is excellent and timely.

Si Como No was the last hotel we stayed at on our honeymoon. After the previous places we stayed, the hotel had it's work cut out for it. The property is very cleverly designed with being on the side of a steep hill. We stayed in a standard room, which is is nothing extravagant, but was clean. We did have a problem with ants so we tried not to have any food or juices out. The room had A/C which is a must for this part of Costa Rica.

The food was ok, nothing earth shattering or memorable. Some of the staff was friendly and helpful. Others you had to flag down and call to to get service. The pools were fantastic after the sun started to go down. The spa was beautiful and the ladies there were friendly..super relaxing!!!

Overall, I would have rather stayed longer at my other destinations than this hotel because of the service and the food was better.

We stayed four nights at the resort which is a fairly large complex with clean comfortable rooms. The adjacent restuarant has excellent cuisine. No wifi in rooms but not a big deal. The location is perfect for the many nearby nature attractions and Manuael Antonio National Park. The Nature reserve acroos the street is a must and especially the night walks. The local guides are most knowledgeable and professional. We included a day visit to Santa Juana as part of a day bird trip from the lodge and found that to be excellent value. Highly recommended!!

Gorgeous view in room #41 (although our first room, think #49 - last one on bottom of that building - saw ocean, but also blocked west side by building in front), but had ant problem - woke up with ants on our bed first morning so moved to another room - had mixed feelings re: help, e.g. Hilda, (who was helpful later with booking our ATV tour), reception was adamant about being back at noon to inspect the other room if I wanted to move - she knew we had a tour and wasn't sure what time I'd be back - I asked if 1pm was ok and she said no, it has to be noon so they can get our room ready if we move - she wouldn't budge which I didn't care for since we stayed for 4 nights and moving due to ants! And knowing we had a preplanned, prepaid tour which created more stress.
- I showered before dinner in our second room and no problem, came back after dinner at La Luna (excellent) and my daughter screamed when she went into the shower - there were a TON of ants in the shower on our razors and conditioner! They came and sprayed. We were not comfortable with our luggage and staying at Si Como No. It has a fun pool - the kids enjoyed the slide and small waterfall, but was also the largest of the hotels.
- Also, I didn't like that no one followed up with us on our room - again we stayed for 4 nights. I spoke with the manger who gave us a slight discount, but I was hoping for more due to our experience.

Dear Laurie254:

Thank you for your review regarding our efforts to accommodate you. Those tiny ants are part of the natural jungle habitat where our resort is located and essential to the food chain we live in. When we get a sudden rain storm, these harmless ants sometime seek higher ground, including the hotel where food items and toothpaste become a temporary substitute to their natural diet. Since we avoid insecticides harmful to so many species, we try our best to control the ants organically that sometimes find their way into the rooms. However we found it difficult to comprehend that Hilda, with so many consistently positive reviews every month, could have been so adamant which is so out of character of her and the rest of our team at the front desk. Finally the three reports from management's contacts with you or your spouse reported his sincere appreciation of our offer to compliment the first night as well as provide free upgrades.
Sincerely,
Dennys Quiros

The staff at Si Como No are amazing. Customer Care is in their DNA. One example; Late at night, around 10 p.m., I was sitting at a table out front of the their restaurant next door. A Si Como No housekeeping staff member getting off shift waiting for her ride or bus brought me a seat cushion for the cafe chair I was using. Amazing that she noticed I was sitting on the iron mesh seat and took the initiative to make a customer more comfortable when she didn't even work at the restaurant and was off shift heading home. There more of the same from the hotel desk staff and the staff at their wonderful spa.

I stayed at Si Como No with my family in January 2013. This is probably my fifth time at the hotel, since it is our favorite weekend getaway. We have stayed in other hotels in Manuel Antonio, but Si Como No beats them by far!

My kids love the pool and my little girl love the water slide, the rooms are super comfortable and clean. I am always fascinated with the friendly and speedy service. Everybody greets us like friends, pamper my kids and serve me great margaritas! My older girl complains about the lack of TV, but we bring a couple of movies and play them in our computers. Also the lack of TV motivates us to play and talk more...

I totally suggest this place for families, just make sure to mention the front desk that you have children, so that they can childproof the balconies.

Dear AlejandraM936:

It is very gratifying for us to know we have become your weekend getaway for you and your family. With our separate family and adult pool terraces we offer guests two completely different atmospheres . As you pointed our we include an array of educational & enviromentaly friendly activities within the resort and adjacent wildlife refuge, and trust ypu took advantage of our free passes to the butterfly gardens, or the guided tours of our crocodile lagoons and jungle night tour of the amphibian ponds. Again we're gratified we continue to meet your expectation with experiences worth coming back for. We hope to have you also become a regular client of our other Greentique Hotels in the Osa Peninsula and San Ramon to add to your list of family getaways..
