“satisfactory”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

With nice views and an excellent service our stay was satisfactory. The lovely Jasmine at the pool bar and the rest of the staff are very helpful. Breakfast was good and one could spot white faced monkeys sometimes. A shuttle service is available to take you to the beach/park. Only downside is no internet is available in the rooms! 8/10

Dear Etienne G:

Thanks for your review ! At Si Como No the we believe the most important asset is our staff, since our opening 20 years ago. We've been so fortunate to still be recognized for our friendly service and helpfulness by many happy guest who our particular brand of Costa Rican Pura Vida! Wildlife in the property has always been a big plus as you also mentioned, including the toucans, sloths, White Face & Titi monkeys and hundreds of tropical birds that continue to enhance the "magic of nature" in the Rain Forest of Manuel Antonio.
We hope to see you back with us again soon or with our other members of Greentique Hotels in the Osa Peninsula, at Aguila de Osa Inn, or in San Ramon at the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel and Nature Reserve.

“We loved this place and are scheduled to go again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

The Deluxe Suites are large, with a king size bed, balcony and huge bathroom. The beds are very comfortable. We ate at both restaurants, but like the one by the adult pool better. Try the fried snapper, it was my favorite of all the restaurants in the area. There are serveral bars and restaurants within walking distance for you to dine at, so you have that trapped at resort feeling. I also enjoyed the adult swim up bar after a long day. They had a different special drink everyday. Full breakfast was provided as part of your stay. That is a nice touch to get something in your stomach before heading out for a beautiful day in Costa Rica. There is a bus stop to Quepos or Manual Antonio right across the street or next store. The staff was always pleasant and was happy to summon a cab for you.

Room Tip: Try the deep fried snapper, it was wonderful.

Dear TracyRiggio:

We hope to see you back with us again soon or with our other members of Greentique Hotels in the Osa Peninsula, at Aguila de Osa Inn, or in San Ramon at the Villa Cloud Forest Hotel and Nature Reserve.
Greetings from sunny Manuel Antonio Beach ! We appreciate you taking the time and share your Si Como No experience with future hotels guests. We are glad that you enjoyed our full buffet tropical breakfast with staff. We believe it's the freshness of our products and the knowledge of our chef and his kitchen team that are key to our restaurants continued popularity in the area.

“The Devil is in the Details”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

The accomodations are avarage and the staff is attentive. The hotel has a comfortable jacuzzi and a good swimming pool with a wet bar inside and a beautiful sunset. The drinks are not bad.
The breakfast - although with a great view - needs an update: the hotel serves the same dishes every single day and it is impossible to get a juice with no sugar.
The hotel is far from the beach and the free transportation is available only once an hour, with a big interval between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. I would be happier if the transportation were more frequent.
The shower is terrible. I stayed at a Deluxe Suite and I had to wash my hair straight on the tap, crouched on the floor, because the shower was very poor and the water had no pressure at all.
Further, my room had a window overlooking the entrance hall of the next room. The hotel leaves the hall light burning all night and my room did not have proper blinds to block the light. In order to try to sleep, I had to hang blankets on such window. In addition, there is no soundproofing and everyday I woke up before 7:00 am with the fuss made by the children next door.
Finally, there is no TV nor WiFi (free or paid) in the room, what is unnaceptable nowadays.
If i knew those details, I probably would not have stayed in this hotel.

Dear LilianF:
We know we're not perfect, but this seems so way out of the norm we can't even find the logic or constructive feedback to gain insight or knowledge to improve upon! With so many highly rated comments the very same time of your stay, we had to wonder if you confused us with another hotel. Yes we do have water saving shower heads, part of our Five Green Leaf policies, yet there was no water service issue at the resort reported the dates of your stay. We immediately shared your observations with management to see if there was any reports registered, to try and understand how we significantly missed the opportunity to deliver that same level of Si Como No quality we’re highly rated for. We regret breakfast was not to your liking, but again every review on this forum and the hundreds of monthly guest surveys continue to express how they enjoy our breakfast buffet and atmosphere. It's also regretful that you did not choose to inform our Concierge to try to at least attempt to resolve your issues that honestly we would have loved the opportunity to do our best to resolve so you could have ideally joined the rest of the guest approval ratings we earned in January.
Sincerely,
Dennys Quiros

“Beautiful boutique hotel hidden in Manuel Antonio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

We did our homework and considered many hotels before choosing Si Como No, but were still blown away when we arrived there and saw how beautiful the hotel is. Amazing views of the ocean and each room has a balcony with an ocean view. The restaurant food was good (not great), but there are several great restaurants in walking distance so we were able to try out different foods each day. There is also an "adults only" pool which is great if you're traveling as a couple or with friends and would like a quieter atmosphere to relax in. For those with families, the family pool has a water slide, access to the pool bar/restaurant, and the hotel has a movie theater with nightly showings.

Cons: Honestly can't think of one - we were on our honeymoon and they even gave us a free bottle of champagne - well done Si Como No!

“Relaxed, and very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Stayed in Jan for 5 nights in one of the Honeymoon Suites. The Honeymoon Suites are really nice, modern decor, great balcony where you can sunbathe privately, views of the ocean and very well appointed. The Jacuzzi didnt work that well but other than that was very good.

The hotel is very relaxed and blends into the scenery well, the adult pool was very chilled and rarely busy. The grounds abundant with wildlife.

The restaurant was decent, not too expensive.

Good location to explore M.A national park and they have a free shuttle to the beach which is very useful.

Room Tip: honeymoon suites...we had room 46 which was the best one as it is on the corner and thus has best vi...
