“Total bliss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Originally booked this hotel for 4 nights and extended our stay for 1 additional night. Loved everything about it. It was quiet and peaceful just before Christmas. Hotel has two pools-one is reserved exclusively for adults, the other one has an amazing view over the Pacific ocean . Great food, good locaton, the grounds are well maintained. Saw several iguanas wondering around and a few racoons. Sometimes we were the only people at the "adults" pool and someone would always come and ask if we want a drink...and the cocktails are good too. We had a superior room , and it was well worth the price ,as it had an additional balcony and a sunset view. Really really good place. (Avoid visiting during the Christmas/New Year holidays though as it`s popular with families during this time). Would certainly come again.

Room Tip: superior rooms have ocean view, well worth the upgrade

We love to cater to honeymooners and create something truly special that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Having recently celebrated the hotel’s 17th anniversary, honeymooners that were with us over the years are now returning to celebrate their ongoing wedding anniversaries. We simply love that! And we hope to welcome you back soon!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience at Parador with others on this forum. Pura Vida!

“Just the perfect place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

It’s a wonderful place. If you love the rain forest, beach view, wildlife and you are pro-eco-friendly, with luxury only feet away from the middle of wilderness, then this hotel is for you.

We had a fantastic time there. We had a Vista Suite (4th floor), which I recommend because the view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. We wanted the ‘wow factor’ and we were not disappointed. The room was impeccably clean. Housekeeping was there every day with a dedicated staff and supervisors. They even had night bed turn-down service complete with chocolates on the bed.

The grounds were also impeccably kept and full of tropical flora and fauna. Everything looks so healthy, perhaps because the resort employs a composting system that fertilizes the entire grounds.

The place is run like a ship; everything in its place and attention to detail is obvious and very much appreciated.

The staff was extremely nice and polite; among the most welcoming people we have ever met.

The restaurants were solid and consistent, the food was very fresh and well prepared. The breakfast was great; fruits, pancake, croissant, eggs, omelets and waffles to order…Lunch and diner were good too. The only thing is that they don’t change their menu. After a couple days we were kinda tired of seeing the same menu. They could have had some specials of the day to change it up a bit. It’s not necessarily a big issue since you can take the shuttle and go to either Manual Antonio or the main beach (the Rotunda) where there are lots of different small and local restaurants. Though hygiene may be an issue with some of them. To go to diner outside the hotel you’ll need to take a taxi ($10 round trip). We went to the restaurant Luna in Hotel Gaia one night, it was great.

The Monkey trail in the resort is wonderful. It’s not really long but it gives you a good sense of what the rain forest is about. Plus, you will be able to see white-faced Capuchin monkeys if you are lucky.

We took the Manuel Antonio Natural Park guided tour, which was great. We were able to see monkeys, frogs, iguanas, a whole family of mapaches (Central American Versions of Raccoons), sloths, Caiman Crocodiles, giant non-venemous spiders, amazing butterflies…The tour ends at a wonderful beach.

We also took the kayak tour among the mangroves, which was very interesting and allowed us to see a troop of Capuchins including mothers with babies in tow lunging and swinging from one tree on one side of the water to a branch on the other (dangerous for them).

The only negative I can find is that the shuttle schedule doesn’t run that often, but maybe it’s because we were still in the ‘green season’ and the hotel was not full. Best thing we can say is that we would return! Thank you Parador!

Room Tip: It's better to book a Vista Suite to get the full experience.

“Fantastic Hotel. Amazing experience. Perfect destination wedding in Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

The options of where to have our destination wedding was endless. Finally we choose Parador Resort & Spa in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica for our 12/12/12 wedding. I am so glad we did as we had the most amazing wedding. Our wedding coordinator Silvia Hernandez Uba did a fantastic job with planning, organizing our wedding and rehearsal dinner. Her attention to detail was out of this world. The wedding venue was magical, the flowers was gorgeous and the trio acoustic musician was very entertaining. It was more than I could have ever imagined and far exceeded any of our expectations. My guests were so impressed. I would highly recommend having your wedding or staying at Parador Resort & Spa. This is a truly wonderful gem, a fabulous property with great, amazing, friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed 8 nights at one of the Vista Suites (located at Parador Suites complex) which is beautifully decorated, with an outstanding full views of the ocean and your own private Jacuzzi in your balcony. Imagine sitting on your very own private balcony in a jacuzzi- looking at the view of the pacific ocean listening to the sound of nature- howler monkeys, iguana and tropical birds. Truly heavenly place.

We enjoyed everything Parador has to offer, the views, the tour desk, the monkey trail on the property, the breakfast buffet which is included with the room, the shuttle service to and from Manuel Antonio park and the gift shop. We cannot wait to comeback to Costa Rica really soon! Pura Vida.

Room Tip: Vista Suites (located at Parador Suites complex) would be the best.

“Absolutely AMAZING!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

I recently traveled to Costa Rica for a wedding and was extremely pleased with my stay at Hotel Parador! Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshing drinks and quickly helped by the front desk to check in and go over the hotel map. Our bags were taken to our room while Guillermo gave us a great tour of the hotel on a golf cart. He is the best! We stayed in one of the suites on the 2500 floor and it was outstanding! Two bathrooms with huge showers, a side room with a full size bed, a large open room with a very comfortable king size bed, flat screen TV, small table and chairs, sectional couch, one jacuzzi tub inside, and one outside on our beautiful deck that overlooked a private pool and ocean view. The room was luxurious and we felt very comfortable the entire week we were there! There was free WiFi in the room, but it was a bit spotty. It worked best when we were in the lobby/restaurant/main pool area.

We loved waking up early for breakfast because the food and coffee were delicious. Breakfast had everything- fruit, eggs, rice and beans, daily choice of tasty side dishes, multiple types of fresh bread, and best of all the made-to-order omelet station! We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant a couple times, mostly splitting dinner size appetizers like nachos that were really good.

One of the best parts of the hotel was the free shuttle to Manuel Antonio beach. It runs drop offs and pickups multiple times daily, and was only about a 10 minute ride. I highly recommend take advantage of the shuttle and enjoying the beautiful beach. Aside from the many people trying to sell you souvenirs, it's a beautiful, relaxing beach with warm water and fun waves for swimming, boogie-boarding, surfing, and many more fun water activities. The restaurants across from the beach, like the Marlin, are great to grab a quick drink and appetizer. We heard the beaches inside the park were even nicer, but we never had a chance to go inside.

We did a night tour on property with Elias which was really fun! We saw a red eye tree frog and took some great pictures. Throughout our days at the Parador, we saw iguanas, lots of monkeys, and many types of birds. We loved swimming in the main pool, especially sitting at the pool bar and enjoying some drinks! Happy hour from 6-7 was also a fun time!

Overall, my stay at Hotel Parador was AMAZING! Much thanks to Silvia for her help coordinating my reservation and organizing a beautiful wedding! I highly recommend this hotel, and I hope to make another visit sometime in the near future!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with the premium/premium plus suites! The suites in the 2500s, or others in t...

“Excellent location. Pricey restaurant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

Very big resort with outstanding view of the ocean! The breakfast buffet was very good and included variety of food. The main pool was great and with amazing view of the ocean. The restaurant staff at dinner was rude as we ordered drinks and they forgot our reservation and brought the drinks after we almost finished eating without saying anything after we complained about it. The prices at the restaurant was very high and does'nt worth it. There are very good other restaurants outside the hotel so we recommend eating there. Other then the restaurant, the hotel is very recomended.
