“Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

This hotel is literally at the gates to the national park. You couldn't ask for a better location. The rooms were spacious, the AC worked well and the grounds were well kept. The best part is that it is just a 2 min walk to the beach. Most hotels in Manuel Antonio require you to take a taxi or bus to the beach. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times and the food was good. The front desk staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. They helped us book our day trips and offered up some great dinner suggestions. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the small issue that we had with our toilet. If by chance someone from another floor flushed their toilet, ours would bubble up. This hotel was at the end of our trip, and this little annoyance didn't bother us too much.

Room Tip: Asking for a room on one of the upper floors would most likely give you a great view of the beach fr...

“Wonderful staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here our entire week in Costa Rica and had a wonderful time. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful! Location was perfect. I did not give it 5 stars because of some technical issues like periodic hot water issues and a tv issue. It's not the Four Seasons but we didn't expect it to be so we were still very happy.

Dear Julie,

Thank you for coming to Hotel San Bada and for taking of your valuable time for writing this review!

We are happy to hear that you had a wonderful time during you stay with us. All your comments and feedback are well received. Concerning to the issue with the hot water, probably it was because since we are using greenheat (the heat generated from the a/c heats the water) it sometimes take a little longer to get the desired water temperature. Anyway, we always appreciate that you let us know about any issue in your room as we will try to speed up the heating process. Our front desk team is always willing to help you to fix any problem you may have.

Please consider this as a welcome back wish from us, we are not a Four Seasons as you said, but have for sure that we strive to offer to all our guest the best vacation experience while visiting Manuel Antonio. More important to us is letting all our guests to enjoy the charms of Manuel Antonio National Park.

Warm regards from all the Staff at Hotel San Bada

“Best hotel in Costa Rica!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at 3 different hotels throughout our trip to Costa Rica and Hotel San Bada was by far the best. The propriety is located literally next to the entrance to Manuel Antonio park and only a 2 min walk to the beach). The hotel itself is vey nice, the rooms are sizable and clean. The standout for us was the friendliness of the entire staff. The front desk personnel helped us set up guided hikes and horseback riding (a must) and the waiters at the restaurant and bars always made sure we were well taken care of. If you're considering Manuel Antonio, look no further for a hotel, stay at Hotel San Bada.

“Great location and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

This would be a just OK place, but for the great staff and location. Despite the nice staff, we did have a toilet that randomly bubbled up and ran in reverse, so to speak. It was noisy, and not at all pleasant if you were using it when it happened. We asked several times to have it fixed, but it never got done. Also, barking dogs from very poor neighboring residential houses were a problem in the morning. Bottom line, its a nice place to stay because it is a 3 minute walk to a great beach and the national park.
