“Fabulous location, wonderful staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

Hotel San Bada has a perfect location right at the gate of the Manuel Antonio National Park and just a short walk from the beach at Manuel Antonio. The Park boasts lots of wildlife (much of which you can see from the hotel grounds) along with some of the best beaches in Costa Rica. The tours they arranged were top notch, especially the Canopy Safari canopy tour and the horseback tour of Mulguri. We highly recommend the Hotel San Bada!!!

Cristiån--driver, office staff, and tour guide--drove us to/from SJO. His English is excellent and his sense of what we might want to see/know along the way was perfect. When we arrived, we received delicious fruit juice drinks and a tour of the hotel (all rooms have a view of the jungle or the ocean).

The beach is nearby, the pool is gorgeous, the water slide is fast, the drinks are great. And most of all the staff is absolutely the friendliest anywhere. We were very well taken care of--by Cristiån, Susan, Dani, Dante, Leo, and Geiner especially--and felt like family. Their teamwork and respect for each other is terrific, too.

Two tips: 1) take lots of cash (US$ are fine), the nearest ATM is 3 km away, and many tours require cash and 2) though the hotel food and drinks are excellent, it is worth the cab ride or walk to try other restaurants, especially Falls Garden Café and El Avion.

Room Tip: Fourth floor and above have the best views.

My daughters and I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is in an excellent location for park and beach access and for the short walk into town. The property is beautiful and is taken care of daily by an array of employess. The employees of San Bada are the shining stars of this review though. From our waiter Jesus to the front concierge staff, Christian and Danny, we were treated like we were royalty. Everyone was so warm and kind and hospitable, it blew me away. We left at the end of our trip feeling as though we were leaving our extended family in Costa Rica.
The hotel is just a few months old and still has some areas that they are working on but I cannot say that we had any major issues. This is not a 5 star luxury property but is comfortable and beautiful and was the perfect choice for my family.

Hotel San Bada is on the edge of Manuel Antonio National Park. The rooms and balcony look out on the park. You feel as if you are in the park, sights and sounds while the Hotel maintains the integrity of the nature and luxury of a vacation resort.

Wonderful, friendly staff, quick access to the beach.
Great for family or couple holiday

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing such an absolutely spot on review! We are very privileged being next to Manuel Antonio National Park! That allows our guests to experience more alike sleeping inside the jungle and ocean sounds of the Park. It is very important to mention that we want to keep the rooms very pleasant for our guest, that is why all our rooms are non smoking and we use all organic scent in housekeeping.

It was a real pleasure to host you at our Hotel and we do indeed welcome you back sometime in the future.

Sincerely,

Your friends at HSB

We just got back from an excellent vacation and much of it was due to the service and accommodations at this hotel. We drove from San Jose to Manuel Antonio in 7 hours (a story). When Christian, the operations manager, heard this he offered to drive back with us on our return drive so that he could show us the short cut (which is only 2 hours). What service! He helped ensure that all our excursions went smoothly and guaranteed that we made our flight home on time. Turn down service is excellent touch. For only being opened 4 months, this hotel is really trying to be the best in the area. They are well on their way to getting there. I would stay there again if I visit Manual Antonio again.

Room Tip: All rooms face the state park and have a minimal view of the ocean. From the balcony you can see de...
