“Rainforest bliss!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Our family of 4 (20s and 50s) booked a 3 night stay at The Falls Resort after reading other travellers reviews. Our last minute August booking meant that we had to switch rooms mid-stay due to availability, but we didn't mind one bit and booked anyways! Upon entering The Falls you've entered a quiet, beautiful rainforest. The only rooms left at the time, both the garden view and street view double queen rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Next time we'd love a deluxe or standard room with the private walk-up and outdoor hammock! We hoped to see monkeys on the resort grounds, but we only heard them running across the tin roof. The cafe/restaurant was great, we enjoyed breakfast, dinner and happy hour each day. Ronnie at the bar was too good to us! We walked to the public beach (Playa Espadilla) in the pouring rain, 15-20mins downhill. The following two sunny days we took a taxi to the beach and Nat'l Park entrance, only $4-6 and easily flagged right outside the entrance. The popular El Avion restaurant is a short walk across the street with a great ocean/sunset view. Another trip to Costa Rica will definitely include a trip to Manuel Antonio and stay at The Falls.

Room Tip: Any room with a view of the rainforest garden!

If I had chosen this hotel by it's street side appearance, I never would have stayed there. Luckily, I chose it for it's good reviews. Once inside, the whole place is beautiful Gorgeous terraced landscaping of tropical plants and welcoming rooms with porches supplied with hammocks and sitting areas. The room is huge with an equally huge luxurious bathroom. It has lovely wood plantation shutters and wood furniture. I thought the room was beautiful, but a bit dark for my taste. The dining room and bar are open areas and the included breakfast is delicious. I loved the infinity pool and spent a lot of time in it. I would definitely stay here again.

The Falls Lodge is situated on the other side of the road from the ocean. I visited the oceanside hotels and I was very pleased that I chose this one! Our room was up top with our own lovely porch with outdoor furniture and a hammock looking over the rainforest environment. The nature sounds are amazing! There was a full day of downpour while we were there. We had a delightful time hanging out reading and listening to the rain. It was a blessing in disguise.

This was the most expensive place we stayed and it’s still only $120 per night including breakfast and taxes. You certainly get your money’s worth.

We did a tour with Brian at Costa Rica Individual Travel Agency. It’s well worth the money. Without a tour we would not have seen anything.

Amazing hotel! The rooms are just gorgeous with great attention to detail! We loved the walk-in dressing room, (luxury as most other hotels we stayed in didn't even have a wardrobe!), the big shower room with white robes, piles of fluffy towels, the enormous bed with beautiful white cotton sheets, plump comfortable pillows, ceiling fans and air con.... The staff were really friendly, helpful and breakfasts cooked to order as well as a buffet selection. We ate here one evening, and have to say it was the best meal we had in our whole 18 day holiday. The grounds are stunning, with small infinity pool, which kept the children amused, plenty of wildlife (cappuchin monkeys, frogs, lizards, agouti, birds) although we did so many activities, there was not really much spare time! It is easy to walk down the hill to Manuel Antonio, but recommend a bus or taxi back, as quite steep.
Trips recommended : Manuel Antonio National Park and beach, whale watching from Uvita

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are really excellent. We had rooms 11 and 12.

The Falls Resort was the last hotel my Husband and I stayed in on our Honeymoon and we absolutely loved it.
The rooms, complete with A/C, dressing gowns, flat screen, mini bar and amazing decor were the perfect place to spend time relaxing. There are great views into the grounds from the room balcony where you will also get to see all the local wildlife.
The food in the restaurant is fantastic as are the array of cocktails on offer at the bar!
The staff, Louis in particular, are accommodating and always willing to help.
The Resort is 1.2 miles from Manuel Antonio and involves walking down/ up a rather large hill along a main road, there are however a few trails through the forest to the beach and if walking is not your thing there is a bus stop right outside the Resort!
The only downside is that the reception area looks a little tired and does not reflect the dazzling area past it's doors!
We would return to this hotel in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing stay outside the hustle of the main strip.

Room Tip: Ensure you are not in the main building facing the road.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully appointed. We enjoyed walking around the grounds of the hotels to see a variety of wildlife including monkeys, lizards, birds, agoutis, frogs and a possible sighting of a porcupine. The food was great. The kitchen staff was even considerate enough to put food out for breakfast early when we had a 6:00 am pick up for a tour. Highly recommend if you are visiting Manuel Antonio.

Just simply beautiful! My wife and I stayed here at The Falls in Manuel Antonio. We were traveling to Costa Rica for our first time to celebrate our 20th anniversary. This was our 5th day in Costa Rica. We were really impressed with all the effort that was made by the property and staff. When we arrived and checked in the front desk clerk was very accommodating and helped us with our luggage to our room. On the way up to the 2nd floor I was immediately impressed by our surroundings. I was even more impressed by the beauty of our room and the more than generous size of the room and the closet. They even had a nice greeting on the bed with a kind note and bottle of chilled wine....Wow! 5 stars when it comes to that. OK....Here are the pros! The property is absolutely beautiful! The surroundings from our room were stunning! The pool was nice and so was the nature walk! While at the property we saw a lazy bear (sloth) which seemed to like the tree by the road. My wife loved the room and this is a great place to stay. Make sure you check out the restaurant up the road Café Agua Azul just above the real-estate office.
