I spent Friday to Monday here.
Pros: Price and building. $120 for 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, laundry, patio and everything nicely decorated. While everything was clean, some of the furniture was a bit run down.
Cons: 1) Far enough from the town center that we need to taxi to and fro at $4 a trip to get to shops, restaurants and bus station. 2) Management: when we first checked in, the young man took our credit card and gave us our keys. That was it, no welcome, no offers of help, not even pointing us in the right direction to get to our rooms. 3) The henhouses immediately next door - we had #3 and outside our back window was a path and a fence and a property which had henhouses and at least 2 roosters. Every 40 seconds at least one of them crowed, starting at 5:30 am! Also the hotel is adjacent to the main roadway traveling down the pacific coast, so we heard every semi and dilapidated truck struggling up the hill or braking down the hill. I am not sure whether the other units would have suffered from these noises based on their location but at least half of them would share either our roosters or our highway noise since we all circled the central pool.
When we arrived, I thought it was odd that we had only one bathroom. Since there was only two of us, I was not concerned but there were only 2 bath towels, 2 beach towels and a bath mat. Not really enough for 2 women. But there was a locked door in the master bedroom which I thought could have been a master bath but since it was locked, I assumed it was the condo owner's storage area. Day 2 and now we are down to one towel to share and the door is still locked. Day 3 and we have no towels at all so while my daughter is taking her shower, I walk over to the office and ask for more towels and get an argument! Same young man tells me that it is impossible for me to have no towels! I then asked him where they could be hidden since they are obviously not in the bathroom. He stomps over to the laundry/storage room next door to ungraciously give me more towels but there aren't any clean towels there either. So he tells me to go back to my room and he will send housekeeping over. She arrives shortly and walks past me to the master bedroom opens the door that has been locked for two days and shows me two towels in the master bath. It was nice to have a master bath one night but we still only had two towels and by the way, they are very thin and worn towels.
Last bright note: the security/valet that was usually in the parking lot was a doll. A tall gentlemen with little English in his 40-50's. He always called our taxi, gave me his folding chair or umbrella, gave us directions or warned us non-verbally of unsafe walks or activities and most especially gave a us a warm welcoming smile. I wish I knew his name - he could teach management about customer service.
