“Best fresh bread and baked goods in Jaco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

It is suprising the quality in this little place. The bakery is run by a couple of Argentineans that make they own stuff everyday. Regular baguette, chocolate croissants, vegetable quiche, everything fresh. The quality of the dough they prepare is superior to most if not all Costa Rican bakeries. Also a great place to relax and have a nice coffee.

“It's not artisan bread.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

I heard from our rental owner that this place (previously known as sabores lejanos or something) was highly recommended and had "the best bread in town". Unfortunately, ALL the bread they make is essentially bolillo. They all have that same soft chewy crumb with a soft, pliable exterior. It's great bolillo bread, but it is NOT artisanal bread! I bought a "sourdough" loaf that looked and tasted exactly like a gigantic bolillo roll. I also tried the "ciabatta"... Again, bolillo. I was extremely disappointed. It's very straightforward to make good, simple French bread (crisp crust and good hole structure). So... why can't this bakery churn out decent sourdough or ciabatta or a basic baguette? I understand that this is Costa Rica, not France or Italy, but don't sell items called "ciabatta" or "sourdough" if they really are not. That said, the owners were really nice and the cafe is extraordinarily cute. I just wish the bread lived up to the hype.

“Best food in Jaco!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013 via mobile

We had the best breakfast in this cute French/Argentinean/Costa Rican place. We loved it so much that we kept going to try other meals, and we were amazed by every single meal. The food is fresh and tasty. Prices are excellent comparing to the quality and service provided. Wifi and nice relaxing vibe. Try the delicious coffee and treats! YOU MUST GO HERE!!

“Perfectly delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013 via mobile

Our first day in town and we are wandering around during the rainy season. We see the almighty wifi sign AND a covered patio and are immediately sold. The super friendly proprietor jumped up immediately from whatever he was doing to help us pick out some tasty treats. Holy He** in a hand basket! Can I just say that we definitely had to have seconds, and almost thirds. We will probably be back every day we are in this beautiful little town!

“The most amazing chocolate croissants!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Breakfast at this place was an every weekend occurrence for my husband and I when living in Jaco. It's great for a sit down meal or just a swing by to pick up some chocolate croissants (or any other yummy treats).
