“Club Del Cielo April Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Fantastic! Guard and all staff were superb! Guards were available 24/7 to let us in, front desk was professional and quick to answer every question and Maria was a 'doll'! It's one thing to enjoy daily housekeeping, but breakfast served to you on your terrace!? Thank you Maria!!

Location: Was best for us as it was a 10 - 15 minute walk to town ($ 2 US if we felt like taking a cab); away from the 2 a.m. madness, but close enough to walk over and partake; 10 minute walk to the beach (don't know why folks say beach is not clean .. Pacific side beaches ... more on that in a different review); 10 minute walk to the best zip lining around ..

Room: Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, washer / dryer, fanatic a/c, flat screen tv in master bedroom and living room. This was really much more than we needed. Don't get me wrong .. it was just so much bang for the buck I was shocked! Living room, master bedroom and terrace were less than 20' from the pool with waterfall, birds of paradise, areca palms .. nice.

Room Tip: Don't drive yourself crazy. All rooms overlook pool and great foliage. Just decide 1st floor o...

We just returned from our second trip to Jaco and our second stay at Club del Cielo. After finding this place by chance last year on our vacation, we won't stay anywhere else in Jaco. We can say without a doubt we will be returning again next year and of course it will be to Club del Cielo. The small condo complex is kept absolutely beautiful with the perfect amount of amenities. The grounds are beautiful with a huge pool with rock slide and kiddie pool if needed. The maid service(everyday) keeps your place immaculate. A great choice of breakfasts is included each day. Maria is a fabulous cook. We absolutely looked forward to this meal each day. Being just a few blocks south of the main town is the perfect location. Quiet but yet within walking distance or a short cab ride ($2) to town. We walked everywhere. The beautiful beach is across the street to watch the beautiful sunset daily. It is gated 24/7 and very safe. But beyond a doubt one of the best features of the complex is Nancy, the condo manager. She is always available for your every need. Not only can she answer any question about anything you might want to do in Jaco, she arranges everything for you, and always with a big smile. We love her. Can't wait to return next year. Hopefully someday we will own in this complex. This year we brought 12 others with us, rented 6 condos and everyone loved it. See you next year!!!

Wow were we impressed with this condo unit. From the minute we pulled into the parking lot, we were treated like royalty and the entire staff went out of their way to answer questions and help us with anything we needed. If we could buy a unit just like this, we would. We stayed in #15, which was gorgeously decorated with amazing views of the pool and courtyard, ice cold A/C, a fully stocked kitchen, and beautiful bathroom. I haven't seen a shower that nice in such a long time! The beds were comfortable, the area quiet (except for early morning birds), and well landscaped grounds. The only negative is that the walk to Jaco downtown is about 10-15 minutes. That may not seem long, however when it is 100 degrees outside with massive humidity it can be uncomfortable in the daytime. In the evening, the walk is no problem and we enjoyed it. You can always drive if you have a car, however parking in Jaco is somewhat challenging given the traffic. There are plenty of beaches, shopping, and restaurants within a few minute walk of this property. We were SO glad we opted for a tranquil place like this instead of a bustling property in town. The pool area is amazing, quaint, and peaceful. Breakfast daily is convenient, delicious, and cooked fresh to order. The ONLY negative is that you are sitting outside where it can be hot and humid, but we planned ahead and ate early. The couple making breakfast every day was more than friendly with 5 star service and lots of smiles. The A/C in the rooms was ice cold and the front desk staff were so helpful in counseling us on which tours were worth paying for and which ones were not recommended. We ended up doing the zip line just north of Jaco and it was the best money we spent on a single tour. The front desk arranged it all, called us to advise when the driver was approaching, offered us water and repellent, or anything else we needed. They helped us pick out good dining options and told us which shops to stay away from. All the people staying in the condo were super friendly and were "regulars". This is an outstanding value for the quality and location. We regret only staying a couple nights here given that the price was so much more affordable than the other places we stayed in Costa Rica - which were way overpriced and not nearly as nice.

On a side note, these units have washer/dryers which made it possible for us to pack half the clothes we would have needed for a 10 day stay in Costa Rica. We were able to do all our laundry while we were out exploring, which made it much easier on us than having to pack double the amount of clothes. That was a definite PLUS! Overall, it felt like we were staying with family instead of renting a condo unit from a stranger. If you have kids, I would HIGHLY recommend this property!!

This condo hotel was lovely. I was worried from the pictures that the couch and decor would be tacky, but in fact, the interior was beautiful, it was quiet, and everything was well appointed. Most importantly, the staff were awesome. When I came, American Airlines had managed to lose my bags. Four days later, they were still not answering their phone. Nancy, the manager at the hotel (who's a total sweet-heart) and her staff took over the task of contacting the people at the airline, helped me make some calls. The help was priceless, and that kind of customer service is rare in this world, folks! The place is a little to the side of town, but that's all to the good, as far as I'm concerned. It gets you away from the bustle of the center.

Note: the beach around Jaco is polluted. If you're going there to swim in the ocean, my advice is to pick a smaller town outside of Jaco, or use Jaco as a base for other trips.

Room Tip: We stayed in a corner condo on the second floor. One of the first floor condos I entered smelled a l...

Myself, my husband and my best friend rented one of the two bedroom condos - and it was fabulous! It was spacious, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need, the washer and dryer were incredibly helpful (especially during the rainy season) and the security guards were friendly.

Breakfasts were delicious, and Edgar was such a sweetheart even though we had difficulties communicating sometimes (our Spanish is terrible).

The owner took the time to tell us about the great places to go, and even took us on one of his morning hikes.

We cannot wait to go back, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A couple of friends and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Costa Rica and absolutely loved everything about it! It was quite spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, kitchen, living room and a lovely outdoor patio. It was a few minutes away from downtown but close enough to walk to and from during the day. The area was gated with a security guard at all times so we always felt safe. The beach was just a few blocks away and walking distance as well. We had breakfast at the restaurant and were very impressed by the food and service - by far the best gallo pinto I had while in Costa Rica. The staff was very helpful and even returned a hat I lost the day before while at the pool. If I ever visit Jaco again, I would definitely stay here.

I must say that Club Del Cielo is, hands down, the best! It is such a hidden beauty & the service is pretty darn good. I arrived on a Wednesday, early afternoon, and was greeted by a receptionist by first name. From beginning to end, everyone there was so kind & helpful.
When we walked into our condo we couldn't believe it. It actually looked exactly like the pictures on the site. It was very clean and everything about it was modern. It came equipped with anything that you could possibly need from a washer and dryer down to utensils and baking ware. It was way better than my rinky dink apartment in Jersey. :)
Every morning we enjoyed free breakfast. There is a special menu to choose from with I believe 8 different free options. The pancakes and fruit combo is to die for!
The main town, where the shops, restaurants, lounges, clubs are and even a movie theater is not too far. It is about a $2 (1,000 colones) cab ride away. PERFECT! The beach is nearby. However, it is no good for swimming. It is pretty dirty. It's really just a surfer beach! The other beaches are a long ride on the road and/or by boat. I went on a tour to Tortuga Island. We took a yacht there. It was absolutely beautiful.
TIP 1: Do not book your tours through the hotel. They jack their prices up quite a lot. When you walk trough "town" you'll see many agencies booking tours. Book through them. I saved my boyfriend and me about $130 dollars not booking a tour through the hotel.
TIP 2: There is a bus station all the down the strip across from the Best Western. The drive from San Jose, airport, to Jaco by car is about 1 hour and 1/2 and the cab costs about 90 dollars .The bus costs $4 each. It takes a little over 2 hours. SCORE!
