This was the second place we ate dinner during our stay in Jaco and was suggested to us by our Jaco VIP concierge/host Maria. We had eaten at Graffiti restaurant two nights before and really enjoyed it.
The menu at Lemon Zest offered a really diverse variety of some pretty delicious sounding appetizers and entree's. A waiter greeted and seated us right away and read off a long list of specials from memory. Pretty impressive. Shortly after placing our order, the owner and head chef Richard came out form the kitchen and introduced himself. He explained some of the fresh ingredients he uses and where he gets them in Costa Rica. What a really nice guy that really knows his food.
There were 8 of us and we all ordered something different from appetizers to main courses, each of us sampling a little from each plate. My goodness was the food here exceptional to say the least. We had several appetizers and they were all delicious. ahi tuna, panko shrimp, and the korean bbq beef kabobs were my favorite appetizers. My favorite main dish was between the spicy yellowfin tuna togerachi(spelling?), jerk pork chops, and filet mignon that had blue cheese on it. These three stand out in my taste bud memories the most. We ordered 8 different entrees and each of us took a taste off each plate. Everything was really good. I would recommend Lemon Zest to everyone. Really high quality food, great service, great atmosphere and really talented chef owner. Prices are not cheap but are what you would expect to pay in a good restaurant back in the USA for a first class quality meal and well worth the price given the high quality of the food and service at Lemon Zest.
