This was a nice hotel; a little set back from the "main strip" in Tortuguero. The staff were incredibly friendly and we saw a sloth almost the minute we walked in! The room did not have air conditioning, but we were traveling during their rainy season (August), so it was fine while we were there. If you're traveling with electronics, this room had only one outlet and it was 2-pronged, so if you have a device that requires 3, the only outlet on the property is in the kitchen. They offer tours from the hotel that are actually a decent price (we recommend the turtle tour is you go during egg-laying or hatching season). The owner is from one of the original 10 families that inhabited the island and has an amazing story to tell. If you go you'll probably talk to Miss Junie's children, Cloyd and Jolie, who are really wonderful.
